Actually, she is portrayed as rather charming. Conceited, yes, but not horribly so. Rather spoiled.

Hahaha! That was PRICELESS! You had a few JE facts wrong (like, Mason gets stabbed WELL before the wedding - back when they think Ingram and Rochester are still engaged, and the ending. . . but that's okay).

I had to choose a "choice novel" for my AP English I class, and me and two friends chose Jane Eyre. We did a movie of it. I was Bertha. *dies laughing* That was SO MUCH FUN! I got to try and stangle one of our blackmailed cast members. And now I keep thinking of Josh (who played Mason) as Tasuki (don't ask). I have to laugh my butt off. Really. This was REALLY GOOD.

I've never read it, myself, but the fact that the main hero had two other lovers that he neglected to tell Jane about and only goes after her once he's been blinded and crippled and had his fortune ruined, wailing for help, doesn't make me think very highly of him. ;; How'd this thing become a classic? Cool! This was really amusing even though I haven't read the book. I'm way too young to be reading the classics! OK, so actually I'm just unable to get my hands on the book and it looks uninteresting anyways.
