Damn that was sad. But... glad it was sad as a prologue, knowing that better times are coming. So many wonderful phrases that caused little kinks in my heart.

Loved this deeper look into Edward. Such a realistic look at someone whose only sense of accomplishment and happiness seems to have been his work – and even that holds regret. Of course someone like that would be lost upon retirement, especially when he’s in the same house he lived in with his ex – knowing that he still thought of it as “Rose’s and my house” made me sad. I knew he had been lonely before Bella entered his life, but he seemed a part of the retirement community, with friends there, that I didn’t realize exactly how sad and alone he was - or how much he kept the unhappiness from his marriage so close to him. I think it’s a huge credit to his spirit and soul that he didn’t become a bitter person. That he felt he had something to wait for at the end made me happy. And the thought that Bella was just on the horizon made me even happier.

By the time I’d get through all the scenes I’d like in EPOV, it’d be pretty much the entire story. Definitely their first meeting and when he realizes how special she is, the proposal, having Bella around post-surgery, his feelings about being part of a family, his thoughts about this marriage, when she tells him she loves him. Thanks for giving us more...

I read this a few days ago, but got interrupted before I could review. I really love this look at Edward's back-story. I didn't realize how little we really knew about Oldward (jeez, you've got even us old folks calling him that, lol) until you opened the pages of this full, if not happy, life of his as an editor and writer.

I'd love to hear Edward's thoughts after first meeting Bella, and in the those first few weeks and months of their friendship. Was it love at first sight for him (I think so), or was he drawn to her by curiosity and loneliness, with love developing later?

*sigh* how i miss this story. you could share the entire thing from EPOV, and i'd be thrilled.

I want to see the stuff Edward was uncertain about. Like asking Bella to stay with him and help him after his surgery, and then the bathroom moment when he worried she didn't see him as a man.

I feel like I am on the precipice of either depression or happiness. I'm just not quite sure which. I guess considering where the story takes us, it's happiess but Edward and Rose's story was a bit sad. Poor guy just needs some Bella.

I'd like to see the whole story from Oldward POV, but if nothing else, I would love to see the first night he sleeps in her room, the dinner party, and the wedding.

I was glad to have Oldward back, but this was a little too sad even though I know there are happy times to come.

I loved getting a peek into Oldward's past. Of course he was supposed to be there for something. To find the love of his life that will finally complete him.

While I would love the whole story from Oldward's POV I would really like to see where he bet Carlie for the first time.

Ahh, so sweet. Interesting to see his decision to move to the residence - he really wasn't leaving a home he loved like Bella was.

I'd love to see his POV for when he first met Carlie, and then when he met the whole family...

God, I forgot how much I absolutely adore him. Let's see, what would I like from EPOV?

When he first sees Bella at the willow

When she's first tells him about her family and vice versa (perhaps the phone call or first visit with Carlie)

When she comes and sits with him and his friends

I am sorry it took me so long to read this chapter. It was lovely and heartbreaking. What a sad and lonely life Edward had. I would like to get his impression of Bella. When did he first notice her? Were there any rumors about her that he heard?

Oldward is such a gentle soul. I loved reading his POV. Thank you for the insight to his thoughts and situation; I wondered why he was at the assisted living place when he seemed so self-reliant, not realizing it was a retirement community as well. Reading about Rose was heartbreaking.
