I loved how the lady told them birthday candles would work for rituals. It does sort of make sense that colored wax is just colored wax. This was a neat AU.

Nice feelings of foreboding - even before we knew who the Trickster really was, I kind of liked him. Mystery Spot seems so sad and relevent after what we know about Season Four.

Oh, and great Dean characterisation.

Season 4 was such a mess. If it wasn't for the best thing that happened to this show in years, Castiel, coming out of it, I'd scrap the whole season and forget it ever happened. Only one I don't have on dvd. I realized there were hardly any episodes I couldn't wait to see again.

Good story - Dean would absolutely behave that way if he could not feel pain. And to make the Trickster the instigator: inspired! Then, to end with the foreboding of bad things to come... Very well done!
