Goodness, this sent chills running up and down my spine. It was simply amazing! Unfortunately I have yet to read the book that inspired this, but I can assure you I will soon. It sounded as if it takes place in Vietnam? I can't be sure - please correct me if I'm wrong about that. Anyway, the way you wrote this in first person I think gave the piece more emphasis on the side of war most people choose to ignore - the raw truth - which truly made the piece. This was... an indescribably great read. I hope to see more pieces like this from an awesome writer such as yourself!
