| dancerchik 6/28/10 . chapter 3 another thing i just saw: they are in Narnia. There is no such thing as Spanish in Narnia! Caspian is from Carlomen, so he would not have a Spanish accent. Actually, all of that entire world used the same language so no one would have an accent. This is one thing the movies messed up. Caspian is supposed to be a blonde kid without a grudge to peter or a crush on susan or an accent. Also, none of the kings or queens were forced to do anything, but hey! thats writers liscence i guess. I do like your story though. For someone who hasn't read the books, you are doing a marvelous job at making it seem like Narnia. i would recomend reading the books though. |
| dancerchik 6/28/10 . chapter 3 hello! I just wanted to say your story is very well written although, as i am a die-hard fan of the Narnia books, there are a few things i want to point out. First off, yes i know you are using the movies as your base, these are just some things that are just not right. Second, your ages are off. in the book Prince Caspian Peter is 17, Susan is 15, Edmund is 14/13 and Lucy is 12. although the ages are never actually said in the books or movies this is probably a better estimate. You can use the way they act in the books, or in the beginning of the book Prince Caspian it talks about their schooling. I've based my estimates on their schooling. Caspian is probably 16, younger than Peter but older than Susan. I've based this on the way he acts, and also because in the book The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Caspian is described as "a golden-haired boy some years older than herself [Lucy]". I've taken some to be about 4 or 5. Third, NO ONE inturrupts Aslan, and NO ONE EVER makes him do anything (i.e. act). He created Narnia, and ends Narnia. He is the god of the Narnians, and is "not a TAME lion" (from the book "the last battle"). Fourth, where you mention the prophesies, they are 2 separate prophasies. The devide is the first four lines you have is one prophesy and the last 3 is another. And you have typed "road" but it is "roar". On that same note, they ruled for more than just 15 years in Narnian time. The books never give more than "their reign was long and happy". I can guess that their reign was most likely longer than 15 years though because it does say that Tumnus grew to be middle aged, and if he was around 25 in the book The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, middle aged would be around 45 than that would be at least 20. This is just an oppinion, but i would say 15 years is too little. They probably reigned for at least 20, probably more. Other than this, i think your story is very will written and i like it. This is not meant as a flame or anything, i just wanted to point out some things. I also saw in one of your A/Ns that you wanted to read the books. I highly recomend them! They are amazing! You can read them in two different orders: you can read them in the order they were written or chronologically. i recomend chronologically because then everything makes more sense. They are an amazing read! I hope this helps! |

I hope that there will be more in the next chapter, but there's always those filler chapters that for some crazy reason need to be in a story. YAY my name was right. I hope to see more soon, do you have an idea when that will be? Hopefully the next chapter will be a bit longer, this one felt like a free sample they give out in a supermarket to make you want more, and that's exactly what this kind of chapter should be. But remember quailty over quantity. Can't wait for more. |
