I CANNOT stop reading this story. I love reading every chapter, but this one is my favorite. The last line just seals the deal to send me into laughing so loud I get looks when others are around me. :)

I must say that these oneshots are really great. I like that instead of doing a linear story about Hiccup's childhood and Stoick's parenting you went with a collection of ideas. It's nice to read a couple snippets here and there.

This one in particular, Swords, is not only very likely but hilarious! I love the interaction and the descriptions are great. Poor Hiccup... he has no skill for fighting.

Great job at writing such an array of stories. They're well written and creative.
Frequent Flier 8/9/12 . chapter 21
Wow. Just... wow. That was amazing. You feel awful for both Hiccup and Stoic. Sigh. You did an amazing job.

omgs! it was hilarious enough that Hiccup pushed the blame on Stoic, but then drawing with the ashes... lmao!
Mind of the Childishly Naive 11/7/10 . chapter 8
I absolutely loved these! The dilemma that I always have with completed chaptered fics, though, is that I can’t decide whether to go back and review each and every chapter, or just leave one giant review when I’m finished. This time, it’s the latter, but PLEASE KNOW that I loved LOVED every. Single. ONE of these chapters!

I loved Stoic’s view of his son growing up, how he NEVER really knows what to do with him or how to talk to him. His attempts to do so were always hilarious and charming (“Deals” was one of my favorites xD). I loved Hiccup’s persistent clumsiness, him not sticking up for himself, the girls punching him.

Lines like, “Because you never clean out the fire pit?” and “It’s a sword. You just… hold it!”, and the fact that, later on, he couldn’t even kill that rabbit, really showed Hiccup easing into the sarcastic teenager that‘s almost unwilling to be more Viking-y (and one that on several occasions, much to Stoic‘s chagrin, is a little TOO eager to help despite how his "help" never goes well). You captured their character’s perfectly!

One of my favorite conversations (aside from the fantastic awkwardness of “The Question“) was in “Burns”, with Gobber:

-"Weren't you watching him, Gobber?" he demanded.

"Yeah." Like he was discussing the weather. "Saw the whole thing. Kind of funny, actually. At least, we'll all laugh about it later."-

The, “Girls are stupid. I’m not a girl, Dad.” line was priceless and one of my favorites! Also, since the sentence reminded me, I LOVED how perturbed (at first) Stoic was by how abruptly Hiccup switched from calling him “Daddy” to “Dad”.

...Since I could go on for forever about how fantastic a read that was (and how totally likely I am to go back a re-read it again), I’ll stop there. :D And I can’t wait to read the sequel!
