Very good chapter. You show that even two weeks after the Order's victory, Professor Snape is still caught in the nightmare of what-might-have-been, dreaming of a serpent's bite that didn't happen in this reality.

Madam Pomfrey better check him for poison, just in case.

That was an alternative I've never read before. First chapter made me panic that Harry may not get the message and Snape died in vain, in the hands of the apparently 'good' side. But then yay, understanding. But then I was distraught at the end of the second chapter. No. Snape. Suffering. No! x_x

It was done well in my opinion. Hope you continue soon... or not. xD

I certainly like Harry's reaction better than in book canon (Crucio-ing Carrow and then being told what a gallant deed that was by Minerva).

I wish I could be sure that Harry and the others would actually react that way to Snape's injuries.

But I enjoyed this first chapter immensely.
