"I know loosing Gibbs was tough…" - "losing Gibbs".
"I know she came off a tough," - "came off as tough".
You think the angels wingslap Gibbs in retaliation when he headslaps them (He can't not do it)? Or did Shannon and Kate and Jenny and Paula (and Victoria Mallard, though I do not think she ever saw Gibbs administer a headslap, do you?) already explain to them that that is just Gibbs' style?
"As usual, I own nothing remotely related to NCIS except the first six seasons on DVD." - Probably by now the first seven seasons of NCIS and the first of NCIS: LA, all on DVD? And on amazon or similar's email list to be notified the second seasons 8 and 2, respectively, can be pre-ordered (like I am)?
"He even acted like it hadn't bothered him to find out he had a sister that he had lost without ever really knowing her. When he returned from her grave yesterday he allowed his friends to give him a few sympathetic comments but didn't dwell on it." - I did not even know Callen's team was told or knew (or came to know) everything that happened in that episode.
"He was so good at lying to people, his own friends even, that it seemed like they were buying it. Then again, maybe not." - Me, I am not even at all what anybody would call perceptive, but I would go with maybe not.
"She was a smart woman;" - Try "super- and unfathomably smart".
"Director Vance called to inform Agent Callen that Special Agent Gibbs was gunned down while he was following a lead in Mexico. He didn't make it." - NO!
Oh wow! You like to take your readers through the wringer, huh?
This was so good! I love it when a story pushes my thoughts around on how the characters will respond. Such as, having Sam angry with Callen, and having Callen madder than that! Totally didn't see that one coming! But I'm glad it did- it was great!
I like how you kept Sam with short sentences until the ones that mattered. That's how Sam communicates: small, powerful sentences until he has to bring out the rare, big sentences packed with emotion.
Callen was precious- especially when he was saying good-bye to Gibbs. T_T
Lol, was it refreshing for you to deal with Gibbs in that way? I had to wonder because you did it without looking back!
The only thing I wish this story had was length. There should totally be 14 chapters of your writing on NCIS: LA. You're that good. _
Favorite Part: "Nodding his head and rubbing his eyes, G took a shaky breath. He looked up at Sam, his eyes bloodshot, dark circles under them. "I do trust you Sam. Every day I trust you with my life."
"Then talk to me man. Get this all off your chest."
*head spinning* That plot is like whoa. I mean, LIKE WHOA. I feel like all my firm "absolutes" about Callen are totally about to be hyjacked. NCISMcGee, BE NICE TO MY ABSOLUTES!
Greatness! That's what this is! But WHAT IN THE WORLD? This is so intense! I'm afraid to see what you write in this next! This is believable, so much to the fact, that I'm putting this in my Faves! HAHA, I'm SO glad you decided to join in!
Your writing of Callen is on the "tough" side, which is closer to the episodes' feel than the way I write him, so good job! I can't wait to see how you write everyone else on the team.
The intro to this is brilliant! Lines like this:
"He knew Sam was on to him. He never could hide anything from his partner for too long. He also knew Hetty was watching him a little closer than usual. She was a smart woman; it took a lot to fool her. Nate was persistent and constantly tried to ferret out his true feelings. Kensi just gave him a sad look whenever he happened to catch her gaze. Eric was indifferent, but he could tell the young computer genius knew all was not well."
Your writing is INCREDIBLE! Keep up the great job! AND WRITE MORE!
I'm definitely a Gibbs fan, but it was necessary and I completely approve, plus I'm a sucker for tramatic events and emotional breakdowns, so you had me won over from the start :)
You did a great job with character peronalities, especially Callen and Sam, and the way they interacted with eachother was very accurate. Props for an awesome story!
