And you were doing so well...high potassium or hyperkalemia is how they do lethal injections. It causes tetany, bradycardia (slow heart rate) leading to asystole (absence of a heartbeat) and death. You got it backwards. What you described is from hypokalemia or low potassium.

This story is wonderful, and simple mistakes such as these distract from the flow. There are other typos, but who doesn't make those? I find that reading my chapters out loud helps tremendously in finding those nagging errors that tend to distract readers. Hopefully, your beta will be able to catch those as well for this story is way too good to have so many grammatical mistakes. I realize you've marked it complete, but if you're ever interested in polishing it, let me know. Over time, I'd be willing to work with you to make it shine.

Just one little thing. I'm Croatian and I can tell you that Markos is not Croatian name. Maybe Greek but not Croatian. Our men are called Marko. I know that character was just there to contribute to your portrayal of Edward so he's not important but I had to get it out there. :)
