Aw man, so many feels after this book. The conclusion of book two reminds me of the conclusion from Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back, when everyone is at their lowest point, and everything goes to crap for the heroes. At this point in Star Wars, the loss that everyone feels over Han Solo is palpable, and it really helps set the tone for the next chapter. In the same way, the loss everyone feels at the Onsen over Lin feels like a great tone setter for you next book which I am anxious to see finished.

That being said, poor Kiri. That girl was put through HELL in the last book only to survive, does her best to reconcile her losses and move forward, only to be dragged away and forced to lose even more. That girl must be the Spirit World's biggest punching bag, I swear! ;-;

I didn't notice how the grammar errors had faded away until you mentioned it here. They WERE a bit jarring on the previous story though, if you ever have a chance to go back and fix them. The story's good enough that they don't much matter, but a great story deserves to be error free! Happily onward with my reading now, love love love...

Wow, this was definitely a harsher story than the first book. I feel pretty bad for everyone, especially Lin at the moment. Cinna was amazing in this and I love her relationship with Haku. Haku living among humans is also a treat. Shouta and Kenka are my favorites of the new humans, although I like all of them and am strangely fond of Meg. I have a sense that Chihiro's assistant isn't entirely human.

I haven't mentioned yet that I love your story. It is still well written and full of folklore like the last one, although I think I noticed more grammar errors in this one than in the last. But hey, the mistakes don't detract from the fic and I'd much rather have it the way it is than not at all. There were several lines in this book that had me laughing out loud and just made me enjoy this story a lot.

I've been really conflicted seeing the relationship between Haku and Kube. Then she told him her story which made it even more so. I thought it was sweet how they are able to relate to each other, and his reaction to her story.

"There is no need to apologize," Kou smiled dryly, "I work in a kitchen and am accustomed to screaming and being chased with knives."

"Where'd you dig this guy up, Chihi-chan, the circus? Seriously, you're super weird, Kou. I guess I'll see you later. Bye."

After I finish the next chapter there's only twenty of these left, and so thus, eventually, we're going to get Sen up. I think, anyway. Maybe it's going to be one of those season-finale-style things. Maybe.

"KAONASHI!"

The female human was dressed up like a God, wearing the straw cloak of a Namahage. Her cleaver was made of plastic as were the horns glued to her brow. Blue paint smeared her face beneath the wig of fake leaves she wore on her head, but the bucket she carried on her arm was old. From this she produced another plastic rectangle on a lanyard jostling with fake soot spirits.

"Oh-my-God your costume is awesome! Take off your coat so I can see!"

Beyond her shrill shriek she had a fanatical gleam in her eyes that sent him shrinking. She undressed him right there before taking notice of Fuu and Shouta.

"Yeek! Chihiro and Haku too! This is too great! Picture-picture-picture!"

Fuu and Shouta happily struck poses as the stranger lifted the box to her eye, quivering with excitement. Haku recoiled, throwing up his hands in front of his face as a blinding light flashed.

"You're so awesome! I love you so much, Kaonashi!"

She squealed again before shoving his coat back into his arms and hugging him! A complete stranger was hugging him! Haku could do nothing but submit until the human released him, spinning on her heel without another word before diving into the crowds. Utterly baffled and half amused Haku peered after her.

Is it embarassing to say that I saw the shot where Kaonashi was looking so hopeless, frowning up at the sky as all the kami crowded around his feet, going for the gold, and he had that /PRICELESS/ expression on his mask?

LOL for eternity.

Moving on.

Wait, when did I miss that Sakato has less than six weeks to live?
