The cute fluff is what kept me from killing at the first section, with the way that woman if I can call her that claimed to be raped. Not only does it smack in the face of real victims but when people who report false claims like these...it makes it harder for the real victims of rape to step forward and be believed. Stella and Lindsay talking about it was perfect, especially with the way we saw how it affected Stella and her time with Frankie. Sheesh that man has a lot to answer for!
Now the fluff at the end, thank you! I needed that today, with the way Danny was disgusted with how that dominatrix came onto him...I have to admit I adored that scene. It was funny to see him so uncomfortable with a woman who wanted to show him her brand of fun, LOL! But mostly I love this section because how how Danny shuddered in Lindsay's arms as she snuggled closer to him. Ah, love! :D He may have gone for it in the past, but I'm glad to see that he has grown and knows what he wants. Lindsay. :D This line had me in hysterics, Danny is such a multi-talented man! XD
"But you're the best when it comes to comforting," she told him, kissing him. "And when it comes to cuddling." She kissed him again. "And when it comes to kissing."
"There are a lot of more things I'm good with," he teased with a wink. Knowing he wasn't supposed to take this conversation any further though, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into his lap. "But now I think I should show you how good I am with ordering a pizza."
Aww! You updated another my favorite story! You have no idea how happy you made me and I cannot thank you enough. I really want to hug you!
One of the reasons why I love this story is that Lindsay accepted the supports and love Danny offered her! They being so open to each other just makes me full of happiness! Besides, I'm glad Lindsay opened up to Stella, too. What a beautiful relationship and friendship between Lindsay and Stella you caught!
I know she can't change what had happened her and her friends in the past ho matter how desperately she wanted, but I think it is good for Lindsay to have those who understand her and her past and are there for her. It is believable that Stella wanted to support and be there for Lindsay in return to be supported by Lindsay when she was attacked by her
ex-boyfriend Frankie. I do love these two women's friendship! It's amazingly beautiful!
Yes! Like you said in here, I think why Danny rejected the Suicide Girl's offer even though he wasn't in a relationship then on the show is that there had already been Lindsay in his heart. I'm really glad you brought up it in here! I LOVE the Danny you portrayed, because he made it clear that he loved Lindsay and the only woman he wanted was her. Loved it!
The line Danny said that he should show her how good he was with ordering a pizza made me giggle! The balance between angst and humor is awesome! I hope and are even looking forward to their love for each other developing into more and more!
Thank you so much for sharing a sweet and beautiful moment! Can't wait for more!
Okay, please update this story! this is a great story. It follows the show some and then it has its own twist that I look forward to. So, 3 months is too long to wait. Please update soon.
This was freaking MARVELOUS! I can totally see how Danny was the one to urge Lindsay to tell Stella what happened to her. And even seeing how much this affected her, seeing the comparison that Danny made to how Lindsay wanted to help Stella but was rebuffed. This is so dead on with the whole situation!
I LOVE how it was Stella who came to Danny to ask if he knew what was going on with Lindsay. Of course he did, but even though he trust Stella implicitly, he still wouldn't give up a friend/love. Loyal as the day is long, our boy is! :D And on a lighter note, his poor tummy! LOL, I think even if she hadn't interrupted him, something might have come along an interrupted his lunch. He is just that lucky. :D
"Maybe it'd be really good for you to talk to Stella. You have my full support, but Stella knows from own experience how hard it is to forget a bad experience and how it's like to fight with nightmares. Maybe it'd help you to talk to someone who understands it like her. And you know she would love to listen and help you. Remember how you felt like when she was attacked by Frankie. You wanted to do something for her. Now let her do the same for you."
Glancing up at Danny, Lindsay saw the warmth of his support in his eyes. She knew he would do everything to make her feel better and she was grateful she could turn to him whenever she needed him. But she also knew he was right about Stella.
"You think she wouldn't mind?" she asked.
He shook his head. "Not at all. She really was worried when she talked to me. She'd be happy if you took her offer." He smiled lightly. "She's a mind reader by the way. She knows we're together, but I really didn't tell her."
Lindsay couldn't help but chuckle; somehow he always managed to make her feel better. "Well, sooner or later, everyone will find out. Even Sid believes there's more between us."
Danny grinned. "As long as he doesn't think he has to tell us about how to be in a relationship, I'm fine with that."
Lindsay was glad that she could talk to Danny. But she could imagine Stella would be able to offer some support as well. It wouldn't be easy to repeat her story again. But still she decided she would open up to her friend and answer her questions."
What a super sweet, beautiful and fluffy chapter... again! LOVE IT!
It's a nice change that it's Danny's time to open up and to talk to Lindsay, even though he doesn't want to. I'm glad Lindsay forces him to tell her about what's going on in his head. “What is bothering you so much? What he did? Or what happened to Hawkes? Or is it because of your brother?” ... “I don't know, to tell you the truth,” he answered then. “It's because of Hawkes of course... “Yes, it was a tough situation,” ... “And your brother being brought up wasn't easy for you either.” - “You won't drop the topic, right?” Danny asked her. “Not until you talked about what's bugging you,” she told him. “You made me talk about my problems so many times. I guess the rule to talk counts for the both of us, not just for me.” She's right though, Danny should also talk to her about what's bothering him. He made her talk, so does she now. He should know by now how persistent she is. LOL. And you know what they say: What goes around, comes around!
And I'm glad he starts talking about Louie. I hate that they let this hole topic slide on the show, so it's awesome that you picked it up. :) It's painful for him to talk about his childhood and his past in general with Louie, but it's important the he confides in Lindsay. He trust her completely and she understands him better than anyone else. He still feels guilty and responsible in some way for what happened. Of course it's not his fault, so it's great that Lindsay makes him see that also... well, at least for now. It's a difficult topic, so I'm pretty sure this was not the last conversation about Louie.
It's nice to see that they talk so much in their relationship. This way it's easier for them to understand the other person and their behavior. “I guess we talked enough about me now. How are you feeling today? We barely saw each other during the last week.” - “I'm doing fine,” she answered, snuggling further into him. “That this week was so busy had its advantages. I didn't have time to think. But it seems like it's coming back again now.” - “Talk about it when it gets too much, alright?” he told her. She nodded. “I'll do that.” Once again, a smile lit Lindsay's face. “It feels good, doesn't it? It feels good to just get it off your chest and listen to someone else's advice.” As I said, they're just perfect together!
Please update soon, hon. I'm seriously addicted to this story and can't wait for more! :)
I have missed this story, season three redone to fit the way we thought it should be done. Lindsay trusting Danny to tell him her secret, and him supporting her. :) But this chapter shows that it is not just a one way street, she cares enough about him to prod him to start talking too.
"She shrugged. "Well, now I changed your plan obviously. See, this can't just be about me. You can't expect me to talk all the time while you're keeping everything to yourself. You didn't come here to talk about yourself, but what are you expecting? When you feel something's bothering me, you expect me to trust in you and open up. Don't you think I can expect the same from you?"
And he did, Louie has always be a sore subject for him. But when he told her about how conflicted and angry he felt when he found out Louie had joined Tanglewood again, I think she felt his pain. She is right though, he can't blame himself for Louie's decision. He can only face the fact that Louie loves him enough to have protected him from that life. And a big bonus in here...was the touching, kissing, and running her hand through his hair. Oh, that there is why I love them. They aren't touchy feely at work, but off the clock they can't keep their hands off of each other.
You have written so many wonderful stories that I can't stop reading them, even more than once. This story makes sense. I wondered if there should be more to the eposode, not just her walking out and not wanting him to know about her past. That disterbed me a lot. I thought that she should have explained things to Danny. I am glad you found a way to make that happen. Great story. Keep going.
God, I simply love this fic, I’m addicted to it! And this chapter is amazing, love it!
I was so excited to see that you picked up the snake bite. I always wondered how Danny reacted when he found out and if he went to see Lindsay after that. Well, of course he went to see her, we all know that. He just cares too much. And I’m really glad he did. I mean Lindsay got bitten by a snake, that’s scary enough. But now she’s home alone, with too much time to think. About what happened in her past and about her home in Montana. She immediately feels run down and needs to talk to Danny. But of course she’s still too nervous to call him and ask him to come over. So thank God Danny senses that she needs someone to talk and calls her. And it’s really cute how excited Lindsay gets, when she picks up the phone.
LOL. I should have known that Danny stands already in front of her door. "Hello Danny," she greeted him, hoping that her voice wouldn't reveal her excitement, mixed with the thick feeling which her dark memories and thoughts caused. "Hey," he greeted back and she couldn't help the feeling that he sounded insecure. "I...well, just finished my shift and...I hope I didn't wake you up?" - "No, you didn't," Lindsay answered with a light smile. "In fact I have my usual problem again. I can't really sleep.” - "So you wouldn't mind if I showed up?" he asked, almost sounding relieved. She chuckled softly. "I doubt I would ever mind you showing up here." She wanted to add more, but instead she heard a knocking at her door. Her eyebrows raised. "Don't tell me you're here already!" - "I just wanted to make sure you actually want to see me," He’s so cute, but he should knows by now that Lindsay always wants to see him. Most of the time she’s just too nervous to call him. But he takes care of it and makes sure she’s okay and talks to him. He’s a great (boy)friend!
And then his hug he gives her when she opens the door. How cute is that? He so concerned about her and needs to assure himself that she’s safe and sound. And just like Danny, Lindsay enjoys the closeness and comfort. She immediately feels better and is touched by his actions. She’s not used to it that someone outside her family cares so much about her. So when she’s with Danny she feels home. :) "Come on, don't worry. I'm fine, really." Releasing her from his tight grip, he took her bandaged hand into his carefully. He lifted it and examined it closely. Lindsay felt her cheeks heating up even more as he gently stroked over the bandage that was hiding the bite marks. It seemed as if even through the bandage, she could feel his loving touches. "I was really worried," Danny said then, placing a soft kiss onto the back of her hand. "I'm glad Hawkes and not I was around, because I guess I'd have freaked out." I believe that without a doubt. He would’ve started panicking and hyperventilating and would’ve needed a doctor himself. LOL.
I love with how much determination and passion she does her job. I mean I wouldn’t go to work for a few days after a poisonous snake bite. But Lindsay wants to be back at work as soon as possible. But that’s something I really love about her, just like Danny. "You get bitten by a snake and then you come back and solve the case? You're crazy." - "I know, but you love that," Lindsay said before she could censor herself. She didn't see any surprise in his eyes though. Instead Danny's expression seemed to soften even more. She barely noticed how he stepped a little closer. "Very true," Aw, he is so in love with her. Of course Lindsay feels the same and finally makes the first step and kisses him. YAY! I can’t believe it. We finally get a kiss. A real kiss. And it’s so sweet and gentle, but also full of love and passion! Fantastic! *grins like a Cheshire cat*
I’m happy that realizes how much Danny actually cares for her and that she finally admits her feelings for him. Even though she thinks she’s not ready for a relationship, she wants to give it a try. She knows she can trust him and that he won’t push her into something she doesn’t want. But it’s definitely the right decision for both of them. They couldn’t ignore this tension between them any longer, it’s just too obvious. And it drove me nuts. LOL. "Are you sure you don't mind?" he asked. "I mean, I know we wanted to wait until..." - "I am ready," she interrupted him, surprising herself with her determination. "I mean...I can't promise you that I'd be the best girlfriend ever. I'm still...having my problems and I don't know how much I can invest into a relationship." - "I don't mind," Danny assured her. "I mean it. I know what you have to go through at the moment. You have to handle all those old memories. You have to get prepared for testifying. I don't expect the world to turn around me now. I'll be there for you like I promised and I don't want you to feel any pressure. I just...want to be together with you. More than anything else. And if you're willing to give us a try, I'll make sure that you won't feel pressured or uncomfortable." Like I said, he’s just perfect! He’s so sweet and gentle around her. I like that a lot.
My god! Where have you been hiding this gem? Not only have I adored how NothatRose has been writing about this particular episode, but we get a wonderful addition by you who knocked it out of the park!
I know there weren't many stories dealing with them with this episode, but this one is what I see happening. Danny rushing to her apartment wanting to know if she is alright, and not being able to let her go. I agree with him, with all of the animals in the city, she had to get bit by a snake. LOL, not that I'm happy it happened, but it led to this and that makes me happy.
All of this is EXCELLENT from the worry to how they aren't going to let anything stop them from being together. It won't be perfect, but it will be worth it. No favorite lines, all of them were awesome!
I lied. "And once again, Lindsay allowed Danny to kiss her. Like the first time, it was an amazing experience. She hadn't felt well earlier. Now she wasn't only feeling a lot better, she also had managed to make the step which she hadn't dared to make for way too long. They would give their relationship a try. It would require patience but it would be worth it."
Not only is she being comforted by his presence during Mrs. Azreal but I love how he knows what is going on with her so that he can help her when it becomes too much for her. He will try to shield her but she doesn't need that, she just needs him to listen and be there. And that is what makes him a good man with a great heart. :)
The beginning where she woke up in his arms, YUM! It was romantic and so comforting. I love that she knows it and even though that the Katums case is bothering her, she will always have him no matter what. The only reason he woke up was because she wasn't there, that there made me sigh with romance of it. :)
Favorite moment
"Smiling back at her, Danny reached out, gently taking one of her hands into his. The tender gesture turned her face even redder, yet it made her relax even more as his thumb gently brushed over the back of her hand.
"Just make sure to come to me when you feel down again," he told her. He pulled at her hand gently and before she knew it, she had stepped closer. Only inches were separating them and as Lindsay gazed up at Danny, she could feel the wish to feel his arms around her rising again.
"I'm glad that you're here," she said quietly, making another tiny step towards him.
Danny understood the hint without needing to hear more. Gently, he embraced her, pulling her against his chest. Lindsay rested her head against his chest instinctively, closing her eyes as his arms wrapped around her tightly. There they stood, in the middle of her kitchen, holding each other and once again she felt herself relax, knowing that she would have support whenever she needed it."
