Oh my goodness... that was amazing fic. Not a lot of them touches my heart, but this one does. There was so much angst and emotion in it that it left me teary at the end. I'm mad that Stella had to leave at the tenth anniversary of 9/11. I haven't given up on them yet neither even though my muse is barely conscious. I really hope that you continue. Great job, very touching. The first line "...but now that today is finally here, i find that i am still alive" i could definately imagine Mac saying. I also agree i think the 'choppy-ness' as you called it fit right, that the style showed Mac's grief more honestly :( it did depress me further though sorry lol, still i enjoyed it :). I do believe the only way they can be true to her character is to kill her off, unfortunately. There's no way she wouldn't be there for Mac, or just abandon him. Whatever else they are to each other they're also family and best friends. It really sucks for both characters imo-i always hoped that at the end of the show Stella would get her happy ending and Mac too. And i hoped that they'd find it with each other. Stella-a family and the one man who's never let her down;and Mac-really being able to love again. Oh well ,we still have fic, i hope you don't lose your muse completely and keep writing SMacked fic because you do it well :)

This is a very good piece of writing, interlaced with sorrow and many unspoken facts and feelings, simply beautiful!

I really liked the way you constructed this piece with Mac talking to Stell like she were there...The setup was also great - it's 9/11 and instead of Claire, Mac's thinking of Stell...I think that about says it all about the depth of their relationship...and all Mac's 'whys' and then the image of his blood on Stell's tombstone were heart-breakingly beautiful!
