that was cute father son bonding. I agree with the smoking thing, but the way I see it, you can harp all you want, but in the end it's up to the smoker to choose to quit or not. I do it to my oldest sister all the time. I never picked up the habit

When I browse for stories on this site, a lot of times I go back as furthest as I can, because I tend to find the best stories buried under so many other fics that often times they hardly get read anymore. And here I my backwards searching was well worth it.

I really like that the POV was Matt's dad, and I liked the little tidbits of Mr. Ishida reading his son's emotions from the body language of how he ate his dinner. I also like how you compare Matt to his mother..a lot of times I see TK being compared to his mom since he lives with his mom, but it's a very interesting take to hear Matt went with his dad because of the resemblance to his mother.

Despite no being home very often (or so it seems), Mr. Ishida seems to be close with his son, or at least close enough that Matt was able to talk to him about something I think most people may have trouble with. I like that you gave them that bond, and I really like how the subject was handled. The divorce may make Mr. Ishida seem like not the best person, but really, after reading this, it's obvious he wants the best for his family.

So, so, so moving. Wow. I mean, wow. I love Matt's family. I know it's strange. But reading about the divorce, the consequences, and all the background and the ripples it created just make Yamato all the more real to me. So really, truly, you did a wonderful job with this.
