Nicely done. I love seeing characters express universal fears/concerns/longings/etc. and watching each deal with them differently. The little touches were especially nice, like the mascara and Vala's envelopes. The cold coffee to hot coffee was just the right mix of touching and heart wrenching. Good job.

I think it's a little bit garbled - I didn't quite follow why Sam was reading Janet's letter, then crying in the commissary, then hot coffee, then Vala being chipper. Even chipper for Vala through something like that seems a little disrespectful. Anyhow - not bad but it certainly could have used just a little bit 'more'.
