I adored your story! The look inside Auggie's mind seemed dead-on, I could almost picture him thinking the words you wrote. I don't want to be bothersome, but would you consider turning this into a full-length story, with multiple chapters? I think it would be awesome if you did, but the story is still quite good just on it's own..
