aww this is angsty and then suddenly all fluffy...its great. Sherlock's reaction is of course what makes this so good, though Lestrade's attempts at comfort are a bit funny too.

For a moment, Sherlock does not react to this and then, suddenly, a slow, broad smile spreads across his face, ringing with genuineness, so fond that it almost hurts John to see it on his face.

I was wondering how you were going to bring Sherlock out of shock. This so fits the character. This was such a wonderful piece, so full of despair and interflection.

All right," he murmurs, though he isn't sure whether he's referring to Sherlock or himself. "All right."
You feel like you are there being the third person in that hug. Though the characters are unaware of us, we feel like we have been a part of every adventure.

I liked this very much. Wish I could leave a more eloquent review but I am a little broken.

The only thing that kept me reading on was the word "comfort" being one of the genres.

This could actually be cruel if this was before the Reichenbach Fall.
