Nice one! I've always thought it must be tricky to get the relationship between Lucy and the Master right in writing, since I don't really see many people do a decent job, but you seem to have pulled it off. :)

One minor grammar correction - "he was drunk on/from/with his success", perhaps - "of" doesn't really fit in that context.
