Ahh...where to start? The fact that Anko is actually so good at what she does is hardly ever shown in fics, so the time you are spending showing just that fact is a wonderful thing. I also found that you definitely showed just how much she cares for Iruka when she decided to leave her target's side and create a distraction...which I definitely look forward to seeing next chapter...heh.

Meanwhile, the idea that Team 7's task is to light a campfire made with wet wood made me chuckle - being an ex-Girl Scout...and an ex-Army Private - I can truly appreciate that seemingly impossible task...although at least the kids can use a jutsu or two to speed the process along...heck - using a water jutsu to draw the wetness out of the wood before hitting it with a fire jutsu would have been welcome indeed on one too many wet and dreary bivouacs...but I digress...

I will be more than willing to forego seeing the kids light the fire if it means having Kakashi head back into the action to hopefully keep Iruka from getting more beat up than he always is.

Speaking of Iruka...I am in awe with how many trivial happenings that chunin can come up with from his past that allow him to continue spouting truths while avoiding the true topics that we all know the bad guys want to hear.

And I admit that a part of me sort of hopes that Kakashi manages to get to Iruka before the truth serum has fully worn off...as I imagine the chunin might supply quite a few very interesting comments to anything Kakashi should happen to ask him...heh.

Of course, Kakashi will have to try and keep the genin in line at the same time he is trying to help Iruka, so he might not have a chance to ask the man anything!

Anyhow - well done...and I look forward to seeing what will happen next!

And don't even think about yelling at me for the length of your review...I took four breaks while writing it over the course of a half hour - and am about to ice the arm again...okay?

That was great! Hysterical really! Genma can sing? ("Fighting Dreamers," no less. Hee!) Kakashi...punching a guy casually in the face. Playing poker like a pro. Doing the *Chicken Dance*! And Iruka acting a very yummy vanilla...oh, and resisting a truth serum! Wacked, fun, funny, and suspenseful enough to get me pulled into a story that read more like good detective fiction than a kid's anime fanfic. I don't know if you plan to add another chapter to tie together, but thanks for the story all the same!
