This is an interesting possibility! The wolves' hotheaded response all too easily could have happened. :)

When Jacob said: "You have no say in what she wants to do," I was imagining Alice would reply: "Neither do *you*. And Bella has already declared her position about this." (When she said she would let Edward get away with it.) It really bothers me that Jacob thinks he has the right to override Bella's objections and make *any* decisions for her. All while being much more dangerous about it. As much as Bella deserved the 'concession' Esme offered, Jacob *didn't*... and shouldn't have gotten it. Sigh.

Ah well. I like your chapter, though. :) Thanks for writing!
