It took some time reading but i really enjoyed your story, except the parts where Gohan was all angsty and upset that he killed some freak alien who was trying to kill him, really dont understand how his mind works and i dont agree with that killing is wrong and evil. There are just to many exceptions to it.

But overall it was a great story, although Gohan almost lost all the major battles i still enjoyed. I was overly grateful that there was no Romance, not that i expected it really because it would be to random and would kill the story.

Anyway lol this review is 6 years after you finished the story but i still thought you might like it.

Hmmppf 'Tousan' is a ** coward himself, staying away willingly while he has a family to support, he could easily be wished back, but no he decided to stay away from his friends and family, for what you ask? Well to train off course so he can train and fight without his family (wife) interfering. Damn coward. I really dont know why all authors have to write all angsty because his father died because of him, really it was Goku's decision to stay away, he should be angry at Goku not sad.

Wow holy crap that was one awesome story! I loved it! It was so full of suspense that I wanted to yell at it to hurry up sometimes XD And the character developement was done so well. They seemed so real. The idea was so original, never read anything like it. I also really like how you restricted gohan's super saiyan powers. It made for all the more obstacles and it is rather ridiculus even in the anime and with all that super saiyan stuff (super siayan 3 was just random and made goku look dumb imo) lol, Its not the kind of fic I read, usually into either romance or humour, but I'm glad I found this. Although gohan's depressing moods got a bit wearing after a while, its more realistic and really altered the mood I spose. and made the ending that much sweeter xD.

this story is honestly one of the best, most well thought out fanfictions i've ever read! i just couldnt stop reading! its 2 in the morninng and i think i started reading around 2 in the afternoon! again great job! keep up the imagination and may the fanfiction muses whack you upside the head once more! ^__^

too good...the fic just amased me and made me think deeply about gohans often conflicting thoughts and emotions and it all made perfect sense. in short I LOVED YOUR FIC...it was just too good

If someone asked me what my favorite anime was, I would likely say DBZ. Which is odd considering the real show and the manga don't have much character development, which is what draws me to a story. But if you look close enough you can make out each character's inner workings, and read between the lines.

You did just that. You took my favorite character and explained him in his glory, grace, and pain, and created the best DBZ fanfiction I've ever had the pleasure of reading to date. I was enthralled the entire way through and I had to force myself to slow down my reading, in order to savor everything.

The only thing I was wishing for throughout the story was that you show more of Gohan's fear of having people too close to him, and that Cell would in fact come back. But after finishing it, I realized that aspect would have changed the story and it wouldn't have been the same.

You wrote beautifully and masterfully. Even though I found your story after its completion, I saw how you evolved as a writer, and how you got better as the years passed. Three years is a long time to devote to a story but I really think it was so well placed.

I can't express how touched I am. From the beginning I saw your emotion in every chapter. I knew this was something more profound than a story "just for fun." You've touched me. I can't even find the words for how I feel. I finished your story and was on the verge of tears and I still am, but nothing is coming out. I'm numbed in awe.

And I knew how the story would end, that Gohan would wake up just where he had been at the beginning, that no one from the outside would notice where he'd been. But those last lines, where Goku speaks one line to Gohan, then ends, was absolutely amazing.

I'd be grateful if we could talk sometime. I don't have someone to rant about DBZ to and it's a bit annoying and constraining to keep all my thoughts bubbled in.

I cannot even find words to describe this, so far. What sort of hidden jewel have I uncovered? Original, poignant, and befitting of Gohan himself...For he is the true personification of reluctant hero, neither a raging bull like his mother or a fight maniac like his father. He is the best to fit in these types of situations.

The use of allies: Frieza, Garlic Jr., and Bojack, is also another testament to your creativity. Not many would use them.

Wow. This is the first time I've come across this, and I really like it. The plot is unique and plausible. The OC's are believable and actually seem cannon. The cannon crew are in-character (as far as I can tell- who is Bojack?). This is a really cool story, and I agree with your last author's note.
