This is a gripping story, and is giving awareness about rape victims...I really feel sad for those people who are rape victims. Id wished to put a stop to that.

About the " Romance" not related to the rape, it's true but it can still be used if the author is planning to have another character to care for the victim, turning the story to be a romance story. I think " Hurt/Comfort" would be better.

I'm not disagreeing with you or anything, I really like this story, Thank You!

I rarely read this type of stuff, for it usually goes into explicit detail, and people rarely treat it as the horror it really is. But I liked a few of your other stories and saw this was rated T. Your summary also struck a cord with me, but I was a bit unsure of whether that was a good thing or not. I'm glad I decided to chance it, because I saw that you truly DID take the situation seriously. You wrote this peice extremely well, and Hughes was the perfect person to use. The last line ESPECIALLY was wonderful, because it had such a true and powerful message to it, that really does apply to people who have gone through this type of pain. Thank you for taking the situation seriously and actually caring. I assure you it really is appreciated.

Rapists and child molesters have their own special corner in hell. May they burn forever.

Really though, wonderful piece. Such a deep and eye-opening story. It's sad, no, it's morbid, that some people think rape is . . . okay.

(sniffles) this is soooo sad because most people would never tell anyone they had been raped or sexually abused. Who ever did this to Ed needs to be brought to justice! Oh and I think Maes handled the situation well, minus the fact that he should've taken him to the hospital to have a rape kit done on him. You hear that people! If something like this happens to you, even though it will be gross, DO NOT take a shower! Instead go straight to the hospital because then they'll have a better chance of catching whoever did it.

Uhh, I'm sorry to say that the only thing you taught me is that you are a condecending jerk and made me question how many rape fics you've actually read on here. First off, before you think it, no, I do not like most rape leads to romance fics, but none of the one's I've read, except for the, "I rape you because I care," fics show rape in any form of a positive light. I can understand if you don't the fics where the authors don't take the rape serious enough, like the afformentioned, or the ones where there is no development and the characters are instantly a-ok, but there are many fics that develop the care of the rape victim or show how they move on that alienating any body who writes a rape fic in the romance genre is stupid.

I'm sorry, and the fic was good, but I can't take some one seriously who would write somthing to attack a whole group over something that most of them don't do what you are attacking them over.

i totally agree with you 100% people should'nt make it a romance because the victomes dont like it if they did it woulnt be called rape it would be called sex or something like that

Your writing is amazing, and you've written this piece beautifully, in a really dark way.

Thank you for putting this out there.

I do not have the words for this story besides wow and powerful. Even those do not do this story justice. I kinda want to know who Raped Ed, then have Maes use those throwing knives on him. That would be justice. But thats what I imagine happening. This story is excellent as is.

*cracks knuckles* Okay, who the hell did this to Ed? They are done for!

Anyone who remotely thinks rape is romantic needs to be shot. I agree with you on so many different levels... and the fact that this happens in the real world is what makes this particular story special. I admit, I live in a small town. Even though it doesn't happen much here, I know well enough what goes on around me by watching the news or listening to the radio. I am thankful that I don't have to put up with crap like this.

The people who put romance and rape in the same genre have no idea what they're talking about. The two are completely different. Plus, you should be able to share that special experience with someone you love and cherish. Anyone who forces sex on you is scum. Undoubtedly, completely scum.

This was an incredibly well-written story. I'm happy to know that there is someone out there who actually has common sense. Thank you for writing this:)

You are damn right. I hate it when people do that, because it just seems so... dismissive of such a horrible crime.

Your story was gripping. It was morbidly realistic, and after all my fluff, I need something like this every once in a while.

Thank you.

I've been feeling weird when I read the word rape on description and the genre says romance, it has confused me until now. Now I've read your story and it explained to me why it made me feel the way it did. It's amazing how writers can make even such a horrible thing as rape seem like a little thing which is easy to forget.

This was unbeleviably touching story, I feel so sorry for Edward. Hughes was so sweet and understanding. The words of wisedom from his made me think of the world world from a new aspect.

Yet, this left some questions: Hughes spoke of love "Anyone who wants to hurt you does not love you, no matter what they say." So, was the one that raped Edward Edward's boyfriend or someone he trusted?
Waka Crusnik 9/4/10 . chapter 1
Wow. I remember reading a few pro-rape stories and even tried to comment positively on one just to keep the writer from quitting what they love... but you made me realize that writing positively about this sort of thing is flat out disturbing. I thank you for writing this story.

Thank you for writing this. It drives me nuts how some people romantize rape, especially as someone who has seen its effects firsthand. It's like my great-grandfather (Heaven rest his soul) said, "There's a big difference between being a survivor and being a victim. A victim lacks the ability to get up and keep moving, but a survivor has the internal strength to keep pushing forward."

I wholeheartedly agree, rape is NOT something to be desired. Rape is a cruel action that attempts to rob someone of their control over their own body. It's dispicable and sick.

Again, thank you so much for writing this. I love Maes' last few lines. They sound like words my great-grandfather (Heaven rest his soul) would say.
