oh, i thought itachi was going to off him, but i love this ending a lot more. the mind-bending/stealing is such an interesting technique and i loved it.

This is amazing-all of your stories are but this J's just...wow. It's confusing at first, especially with the whole crack fic beginning and shisui being 'on the rag' lol but it's a perfect mix. There's humor and lighthearted at most points but underneath it there's a suspense, the feeling everything's leading up to something darker, and I love how you made shisui's technique so...different. Most just make it break his mind and change him dramatically (for the worse) right off the bat, but you lead up to it in an easy way of writing only really good authors can. I especially like the part of shisui's glimpse into hinata's mind-it shows just how respected and different shisui was seen by everyone, and I'm glad you didn't make hinata's mind into some pointless, stammering mess that really only there for unsuccessful humor-and that you wrote shisui in a way he's still innocent, but brave enough to speak up in front of thousands and tell the truth down to a T while everyone else ignores it because, if children are so horribly pressured by their own clans, then it's not anyone else's problem. Lol sorry for the rambling, I just can't really describe just how awesome this story is 8) keep writing you're good at it!

I loved your portrayal of Shisui and I literally had tears, of laughter, in my eyes when he became "Hinata". Such a great scene. Love the whole story and the AU-ish-ness was nice; if only it were reality, (sigh).

You always tell such a story. This one is one of my favorites, and I keep coming back to it. Especially the chuunin examination part -the way the story flows makes me laugh and kind of tear up at the same time. I find it admirable how you are able to mix humor, hurt/comfort and slight angst even and get such a larger-than-life story out of the blend.

For a while now I've been wondering- how did you picture the end yourself? I always figured this story followed canon (from the summary, I believe, as "Four people Uchiha Itachi was glad his cousin fought, and one he wasn't" points to that the results of walking Itachi's mind weren't all that positive.) But it can also be read as an alternative plotline if the Yamanaka's are brought in. Anyway, I enjoy the way you leave your ends open but I am also curious as to what you yourself thought of the future.

Oh, oh my god. This story didn't end depressingly. I am exceedingly happy that you didn't tie this into the tragedy of canon. Unless of course, I missed any implications that their happiness is only temporary and it was only one last moment of indulgence before murder and self-sacrifice. This story was very enjoyable and I love Shisui's vibrant personality and how he accepts wisdom, perspective, and lessons from the minds he visits.

At the beginning of the story, I had only skimmed the author's note and I didn't notice the "mitarashi anko" heading the first segment. So, for a short while I was very confused at what was happening to poor, young Shisui. Though him summoning snakes threw me for a loop. I was so confused as to how he could do that without a blood contract. Still kind of am, but this is a humorous and romantic story, and therefore not that big of a deal in my mind. I can allow myself to forget about canon technicalities in the face of some humorous, romantic Shisui/Itachi story goodness.

Is this the Shisui and Itachi fixit fic I never knew I needed but have finally found? Oh god, but it was so much more than that: I love all your descriptions, the way Shisui gets a taste of people but needs to retain his own, their talks about independence, loyalty, the sheer strength of their bond that you manage to convey, it's all overwhelmingly incredible. I'm choked up and close to tears from the ending because it's so sweet and there's still a chance that it might not work out okay in the end that makes it realistic and brutal. But I love that Itachi managed to bring him back in the end. Oh god, this was amazing, thank you so much for writing this. If I could favorite this more than once somehow, I would.

*dies It's such an unfamiliar feeling, actually logging in and taking the time to leave a review. This is the first fanfic and review I've read and left in a few months... And just the absolute most wonderful one to have been gifted with. The very idea of Shisui retaining a "taste" of a person was integrated nicely with each individual.. It's truly amazing how you weave detail after detail into your works, and just like Shisui, we readers are allowed a slight "taste" of each of your works to settle finely into our minds and memories. This story was absolutely beautiful, completely so :) Reading Hinata's part was my favorite I believe so.. Because of the wonderful way you revealed the subtle layers of Hinata... Ahh it just melts my heart.. The ending was wonderful; if only that could have been the end result.. Itachi's plan is genius, naturally, relying on the foulness of Madara's mind to bend Shisui into using his technique on Itachi himself.. You've crafted another masterpiece of these two and it's absolutely wonderful :) Thank you!

This was a phenomenal journey. I love the concept, love how you can make such an abstract idea so concrete and so spine tinglingly (is that a word...?) vivid. It was incredible.

I especially liked your take on the night of Shisui's death, that was a really clever lead up, and I loved the happy ending.

Philosophically fascinating, of course; supernatural exstentions of empathy are intrinsically interesting to me, but fascinating in... well, flavor.

Sometimes it's serious; the best impression of Madara I have ever read is Shisui saying "This is a broken mind." But it was also hilarious; Anko, Inoichi's "special occasion words," Hanabi; I'm still cracking up over the chocobananas.
