This is an impressive one shot. You establish the characters very well in such a short time.

I loved the idea of Charlie looking out for Edward. The people in that town liked to think they were protecting people but they all ignored Edward being beaten as a child by his father. Edward was so brave to protect his mother like that.

Bella was so unhappy with Jacob and barely existing. Jacob didn’t even appreciate what he had. I don’t agree with people being unfaithful and Bella should have dealt with Jacob first but it was obvious that she belonged with Edward.

I really felt for Edward. He’s such a hothead but he really was searching for somewhere better for both of them to make a home. The idea that he was sending her messages from every town and trying to find a job so he could support her was so sad but hopeful. His reaction when he realised that she was engaged to someone else was heartbreaking. The idea of people interfering with Bella’s post and allowing her to think he had left her completely was maddening.

I liked the way that they rejected that awful town as a group and took everyone that had been wronged with them like one big family.

That was really beautiful. When Edward was quoting the letters to her I had tears running down my cheeks lol. Great job.

Great story. I liked the rough edges of both Bella and Edward, and that Bella wasn't all starry-eyed over Edward. I saw the rec for this on PPSS, and had to give it a try. Very well done.

Absolutely amazing! I really really liked this one shot. I loved this Bella. I loved how Edward fought even in the face of adversity for her. And I love that he wasn't rich... that her ring was small and that he'd been saving for it. Loved Karm - Renee... just loved it!
