Well, my dear Vytina, I've been absorbed by these two most recent chapters... and then you leave an authors not like THAT! Egad, girl, what am I to be between updates! :)

"Jones nodded calmly as he turned away, pipe still in hand, "Well then..." he answered idly, "That should make her a perfect match for you, shouldn't it?""

I want to point out that I feel you really captured Jones' calculating acumen, as he asks for the reasoning behind Lena's 'special lesson', that perhaps he sees beyond Maccus' hard shell to the fledgeling feelings just as Jimmylegs speculates.

More of Maccus' inner struggle can be seen developing in these recent two chapters- He's the fearsome mate of the Dutchman, demanding respect and compliance from all around him... how can he feel for a soiled girl?

"Yet even against his better judgment, he found the long-forgotten remnants of something far deeper than pity or sympathy stirring within the vestiges of his broken soul. Something he had not used in decades, but not all-together exiled from either his heart or mind.

He just wasn't prepared to acknowledge it yet.

"You'll learn in time, Lena." He said quietly. Her name was strangely light upon his tongue. "Believe me...you don't have a choice."" - very lovely passage.

This is very good. I like the way you're building up whatever relationship Maccus and Lena will have. I eagerly await your next wonderful chapter.

I normally do not like OC stories. But this is Wonderful! I'm eating it up. I'm pleased Lene is not a Mary Sue, but a character with a life of her own. Please continue writing, I love this!

It was interesting to read Lena's tranformation from a meek little girl to a bold and sure woman. Though it leaves me to wonder, is she just sick of the ill treatment that has cursed her life or is the Dutchman taking hold of her? Surely, future chapters hold the answer. (are they up yet? just kidding ;) )

This story's really good story...you've got Maccus down to a 'T'. However, I think Clanker is being a little too nice to Lena...my advice would be that you toughen him up a little. But alas, what's done is done and the softer side of Clanker makes this story all the much better. I absolutely love it and I can't wait to read more :) Please do us the honour of showing your good will and updating soon :)

Could you please, PlEaSe PLEASE! update this story? I keep checking back to see if you have updated and everytime I'm completely disheartened to see you haven't. I understand that a good writer needs some time to get their thoughts together, but please give us all a break...I'm going mad here. MAD I TELL YOU! But then again, I already WAS mad...but hey.
