So, I could kick myself for failing to review this ages ago. I'm pretty sure I went on hiatus shortly before you posted it, so I never got a chance to read it when it was new, but after I came back from my hiatus I checked it out and never reviewed for some reason, even though I loved it. Here is my belated review, at long last!

Also I'd like to thank you for all the lovely reviews you gave to my Beni fics. It's funny that you reviewed today of all days, because I was re-watching The Mummy this morning, trying to get inspired to write more fic, and then I checked my e-mail and got your reviews.

Anyway, since I can't reply to your reviews, this is going to be both a response to your fic and a reply to all the feedback you wrote me.

First of all, I love the fact that Beni gets the girl. Not only does he get the girl, but he gets a girl who formerly belonged to Rick, of all people. It's just perfect.

I can't even describe how much I love Beni. I always adore deeply flawed, villainous (or borderline villainous) characters, and Beni has been my absolute favorite movie character for years. I would start a Beni Lovers Society if I could. I remember the first time I watched The Mummy on videotape (Wow, videotape? This was obviously a long time ago) and kept rewinding his “It looks to me like I've got all the horses!” part over and over again. I'm surprised I didn't wear the tape out.

And now that I've bored you with my Beni-loving life story, your dialogue between Beni and Grace is fantastic. Not exactly banter, but just the right amount of cleverness between two people who don't really know each other. This has got to be my favorite part:

"What would you call it, then?"

Beni shrugged. "If it upsets you, buy me a radio."

I think you ended it at just the right point. It kind of has me longing for more, but at the same time I can't imagine it ending any other way. Great job!

Also, thanks again for your wonderful reviews. I especially appreciate the criticism and plan to read over a couple of my fics to see if I can improve them. You have no idea how much it excited me to get some reviews from you, since I've had you favorited for a while now and you're pretty much my favorite Mummy writer because of your Beni fics. It's such a shame that nobody ever writes about him when he's such a fascinating character. I guess most people just see him as comic relief and brush him aside, but I've always seen him as more than that.

It's a real shame that you can't log in to your account, but I would love it if you made a new one. It's lonely being the only Beni fan around here.

I enjoyed this story very much.

I'm not always a fan of author created characters, but Grace was well done and I felt that you wrote Beni excellently.
