This is one of those oneshots that one wishes, despite the AN and the fact that it obviously a oneshot, would be sequelled or continued anyway. It is so well done, the emotion, the imagery and Jayne...because you only have to see the big ape-man gone wrong thing brushing the, ah, working girl's hair in Heart of Gold to know he'd be darn adorable if he decided to take care of someone. But don't tell him that, that'd be rude. Me likes.

As much as I find the thought of River/Jayne very strange, this was really sweet. I liked the discription of her not being able to keep anything out, her names for the crew, and then the end. 3 I very much like the way you wrote this. Nice job here.

Sweet story, River is so hard to write and make her sound like herself and it still make sense. You accomplished this. I like that Jayne's color is the color of his hat. Nice touch.

That's a really lovely image there at the end, of Jayne's mind as a medieval fortress to keep River safe and allow her to dream her own dreams, perhaps. Nicely done!

Very nice!

I thought this was absolutely beautiful. The sort of controlled chaos that is River's mind was sad, but still very much believable and a base part of the character. Also, Jayne was wonderful, cause somehow I believe that he has trouble sleeping too, and you made him sympathetic in his own gruff Jayne sort of way, and this little one shot was lovely, bravo on a job very well done.
