| mieuwings 2008-08-14 ch 23, | abuseThings were confusing at first, but in time I got used to, well maybe, your style and how the times went. A wonderful story, I had hope it would've been a complete one, but I guess since it's not, I'll be waiting for it to be completed. Hopefully you will update soon. I read straight through all 23 chapters because it was so interesting and especially because I am an Aurikku fan...A HUGE Aurikku fan, but anyways, I'll be waiting for your updates. Wishing you quick updates, mieuwings~ |
| Runasutaru 2008-06-11 ch 23, | abuseI am...Quite fatigued as I write this, since it's already getting late at night...Well, in my time zone, that is. I really must say that, from all the 23 chapters I just gobbled up in a row, not only is the plot of this story exceedingly original, but very well pulled off. Congratulations, it totally rocked! -Yawns - I have already saved the link to Chapter 23 in a folder in my PC and will also proceed on putting this story on alert...I can't wait for its next update! Keep the good stuff coming, no matter how long it takes! One thing is for sure though... Tysh ed, past to future time cycles always mess up my head, because there has to be the FIRST time Rikku DOESN'T go back to the past to mess with Auron's future...Oh my, I better not think about it anymore or my head will explode. - Grins - |
| Kori no Tsubasa 2008-03-07 ch 23, | abuseWow! This story is great! I love it even though right now it's sad. I really wanted to cry when she left Auron and how he came running back! She turned around at just the wrong time! Ah, so sad. But it has to happen, I understand. This story is amazing! I wish I'd found it sooner! ^.^ I can't wait to see what it's store next! -Huggles Rikku- S'okay! You'll meet again one day. Til then never forget! ~Kori |
| Liliana Chokato 2007-09-01 ch 23, anon. | abusewonderful! the best aurikku i've seen yet! if only he could come back to life...good thing i started reading this in 07, when it was almost already over! no five year wait for me! excellent work. Could've done with more kissage, they're such a sweet couple! keep up the good work! |
| x Kihana x 2007-08-11 ch 23, | abuseWow, so Rikku was only gone for two hours! It felt like five years. Hehe. ^.~ Can’t wait to see how Yuna reacts after Rikku tells her about everything that happened. “But now she would never see him again... Until they met again in the farplane at the end of her days” broke my heart. Looks like Rikku may be facing the same reality as Yuna ... Not being able to meet the love of her life ever again; or at least, not until the end of her own life. What a haunting truth. Brother’s broken English is adorable. ‘Act over’, haha ^.~ I enjoyed the chapter and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all ends. I shall be armed with bunches of Kleenex. The encouragement and support: you’re welcome! ‘Tis what friends are for. :) Plus magnificent authors and stories deserve it! |
| Omniscient Squirrel 2007-08-06 ch 23, | abuseWow, I love it, it's definitely one of my favorites!! But so darn sad too. I really got all emotional... *crying* Aw man... poor Auron... poor Rikku... poor everything... sigh, I'm pathetic, lol |
| sulou 2007-07-12 ch 17, | abuseOh wow! I can't believe it, but you really have come back to finish your great story. That doesn't happen too often and so I would have completely missed out if I hadn't been randomly searching for old FFX fics just on a whim. So I guess its been awhile for both of us, eh? Can't wait to see what happens next. |
| Artemis-chan of Redwing 2007-06-30 ch 23, | abuseWow! Interesting that Rikku's only been gone for a few hours, and yet it's been days to her. Also, I can't wait to see what she's going to tell Yuna about this mess! Well done, darling. Artemis-chan |
| Following Padfoot's Pawprin... 2007-06-30 ch 23, | abuseWow! I review and you update... Funny how that works! Another great chapter, I can't wait for more! ~Padfoot |
| Drachegirl14 2007-06-30 ch 23, | abuseKeep it up girlie! I'm so pleased you picked this up after three years, I really am. Now lesse . . . I don't know much Al Bhed, so I'm not sure if that's right . . . Uhm, no spelling errors, and Brother's broken english? Hysterical. Uhm, uhm, uhm, hoping for more lovely Aurikkuness! |

| x Kihana x 2007-06-04 ch 22, | abuseThe Fanfiction: I adore this story beyond reason. (Plus the author’s kinda cool too ^.~) It was a ‘Wow, this is phenomenal’ kind of a story five years ago and, upon spending the last few hours re-reading it (and by re-reading I mean being captivatingly lost in Auron and Rikku’s love story and their world for the past few hours), it still is. No surprises there – it was just as hopelessly addicting then as it is now. :-) The Writing: Oh my God, so incredible. Every emotion, moment, and experience felt by Rikku, was definitely felt by this reader through your powerful writing. I love love love your writing style! You have such a way with words and your descriptions captivate to no end. The best stories are the ones that let you curl up and just get absolutely lost in, and it’s because of your writing that Memories of the Past and Present does just that. The Plot: When I read this fanfiction years ago I thought the plot was brilliant. Original, worked right into the storyline of FFX, etc. Nothing’s changed … the plot still glows with brilliance. I’m intrigued by the events of the recently added chapters – can’t believe that it was Rikku herself that sent herself into the past and then to the Farplane. So, her desires were read … Can’t wait to see how things turn out. The Romance: I like how one of the main genres of this is romance and yet throughout the entire story, the tension was drawn out. My favorite romance stories draw out the tension and tease, giving the readers a tiny taste, but not too much at once, as to keep them wanting more. Haha that sounds dirty, but what I mean is, I like that there was a lot of teasing and sweet friendship-ish moments to build up the romantic tension between the two: Auron’s sincere apology when he thought he caused Rikku to cry in the beginning; the uncomfortable embraces, the awkwardness of Rikku having to transfer oxygen to him; the comforting leading to falling asleep into each other’s arms, their inability to meet each other’s eyes sometimes (or, once met, their eyes being “hopelessly bound” to one another); the playful banter and arguments … Then after all that build-up and anticipation … you delivered big-time by dedicating an entire chapter to The Kiss, and the whole scene was painted perfectly. Beautiful. :-) To keep things exciting, the plot heated up right at that moment to interrupt them – i.e., to draw out more tension! Usually after characters admit their love to one another or do the smoochies, some writers write the character interactions in the following chapters with an over-the-top gushiness, mushiness, and lovey-dovey-ness, but you never do. I prefer what you do, because it keeps them in character. The Most Powerful Moment: “I have to go too, Auron,” she whispered. “Where? To the Al Bhed island? I can come with you,” Auron said. I think this is the one moment that truly shows just how much Rikku had helped him. Throughout her time with him in the past, she kept getting upset when she feared she wasn’t doing enough to rewrite the past to save Auron – to *help* Auron. In the beginning, he went from being horribly racist towards the Al Bhed and despising Rikku, to, in the end, declaring that statement: wanting to come with her and live amongst the Al Bhed. All that growth and change was because of her. Most importantly, she taught him to love. So even if she traveled into the past but still couldn’t ‘save’ him from whatever it was that took his life in FFX (now don’t kill me for forgetting what killed one of your favorite characters; I actually can’t remember what it was that Auron died from … it’s been so long since I’ve played FFX!), I think she already did ‘save’ him in a way. After all, she brought him love and happiness and saved him from continuing to be the brooding stoic that he (young Auron) was before he had met her. :-) The Obligatory Fangirl Part of My Review: Sque! You’re giving this masterpiece an ending! Yay! Re: your author’s note in chapter seventeen: I’m loving the new can-do attitude and your will to finish this! You go girl ^.~ |
| karenlovesicecream 2007-05-23 ch 22, | abusehey Lady Genjutsu :] i just want to tell you that i love your story. I used to love FFX in middle school, but i haven`t been in for awhile, but wen i read ur story, i was surprised at how i couldn`t stop reading, from chapter to chapter until i got to "the attack" i think? and thats where it stopped, & i was so sad! i was like, "but wat happens next?" but then i saw that u had taken up the story agn recently, & i was happy! i`m surprised how u can still rmbr all dis stuff :] i think urs is da best one i`ve read so far, & i hope u will keep writing. thanks for sharing ur story! hehe :] p.s. omg i seriously started tearing wen Rikku had to leave Auron to return to da future! & i like how u expanded ur vocabulary & used some of "big words" in ur more recent chapters. :] |
