Bardess of Avon 5/30/12 . chapter 4Every once in a while, you come across a rare gem in a sea of rhinestones. This is one of those gems.
Seriously, I think I am about to cry from emotion. This was just...oh my goodness. Everyone always assumes that those returning for their eighth year would just return to their old houses; the idea that they would be put into another house, and that house would expand...absolutely brilliant. And the fact that their house was named in honor of Cedric Diggory...WHY IS THIS FIC SO PERFECT?
I went in expecting a cute Drastoria and came out with so much more. Thank you for making my night and giving me something to mull over for a while.
Yours very sincerely,
Bardess of Avon |
Covered in Bruises 5/24/12 . chapter 4Man you've got to feel bad for Ron. Having your girlfriend invite the Death Eater who poisioned you to her birthday celebration can't make you feel very good about your relationship. Then she invites him to their wedding, makes you shudder just thinking about it. When you think about it you wonder if maybe he should have stuck with Lavendar.
Poor bloke ought to write an article for the Prophet about how great Bellatrix was and see how Hermione likes it. |
Windchimes of Maple 5/16/12 . chapter 4I think this is honestly one of the best post war stories I have read. Apart from the incredible format and storyline, I love how you portrayed it in a way that hit home. Most people write about horrific and traumatising post war consequences, or a happy carefree world. But the museum bit, makes you feel like 'no you can never capture what happened in a room of exhibits' because it feels like a part of us. You can't really know till you experience it, right?
What really had me tearing was the first line in the journal, because for a second it reminds of how they walked in, their biggest fears being which house to get into. They were all kids after all.
Also as much as I love your non trophy wife!astoria, the best breaking of cliche I liked was Draco being a virgin and Hannah being very sexual. Love your creativity.
A total win |
SlightlyFrumiousBandersnatch 4/8/12 . chapter 4Wow. That was honest and true and moving and smoothly written, and I enjoyed the heck out of it. The epilogue from the novels was wonderful, but it left an awful lot unanswered and I loved the way you addressed it here. Thank you for a most enjoyable read. :D |
Equilly 2/28/12 . chapter 4This is such a fascinating story! I absolutely love the premise, and I love how well you've developed the characters. You've offered an ending that doesn't offer sudden, perfect happiness, but one that is more asymptotical. The name for the house is brilliant and fitting, and I love the Draco/Astoria interactions. I hope you're still updating! D: |
newyorklover 2/3/12 . chapter 4This story is perfect. I really love the style you wrote it in, and the characterisations are spot on. Definitely one of my favourites :) |
Jennifer Esther 2/1/12 . chapter 4 I so love this story.
It makes me cry with both happiness and sadness every time I read it. |
C Dumbledore 11/24/11 . chapter 4A year late, perhaps, but really heartfelt. This is a magnificent story. I generally read D/H slash, and just happened to be directed here through a series of steps. Ant they are steps for which I am grateful. I loved the back and forth in time that you managed to keep up throughout. I loved that you had Draco keep some of his prejudices, but learn to suppress them and not teach them to his child. I love that Harry never even made an appearance. Oh, hell, I loved the whole thing. Thanks for writing it and thanks for sharing it. |
bitofboth 8/7/11 . chapter 4I love this story. A lot. Everything was really perfect- the characterizations- I especially liked Astoria, Hannah, Hermione, and Draco. Your Rose and Scorpius were great too. And I really liked the little scenes and characters you added in, certain first years...the scene in the dorm where they got drunk. Really really well done, a fic that will stick with me. |
calliopeinbloom 7/24/11 . chapter 4oh this was lovely.
I really liked your characterisation of astoria, and the timeline was brilliant. This was just... perfect, really. |
Little Miss Novella 6/30/11 . chapter 4I found this story at schnoogle and this is an amazing story after the epilogue! Loved how well thought Astoria is and how Draco changed...:D |
arynwy 6/15/11 . chapter 4This was excellent. I love the way you didn't change Draco or Ron's inner gut feelings, but allowed them to grow past their upbringing all the same. Astoria was wonderful and it tickled me to see her playing Quixote instead of Hermione. At least Astoria recognized when to cut her losses.
This is a very believable world you've built here. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us. |
 Sophie.Westwood 6/4/11 . chapter 4Lovely story! :D3 |
Scrivensabre 6/1/11 . chapter 4I loved this story so much :D It explored so many emotions and so much of the aftermath so strikingly that I found myself completely engrossed the whole way. I like your style of writing and how you depicted Draco's point of view, as wll as your representation of the various characters (although I found Hannah's character rather, er, creepy...). All in all, a wonderful fanfic! |
Dagmar Beck 5/1/11 . chapter 4Great Story It sounded right a few flat notes but no sour ones. I think you got Draco just right. Making himself work past his inbred prejudices.
As for the merpoeple and time-turners you could just say your saving them for the sequel. |
