2009-04-01 . chapter 3
I have been enjoying this story so much that I have forgotten to review before. I doubt that I will review anytime soon either, because it's likey that I will forget again. Anyway, I'm not suprised that Elrond stayed at that one spot for the entire night, considering what Melian and Thingol did.

I finally got to finish this story. It was wonderful! I absolutely love this story. I can't tell you how much I cried and smiled when reading this fic. Thankyou! This will always be something to remember.

I love this chapter!! They're finally together and Elrond can finally be happy. I was crying when Gilgalad died. This fic is just great, thanks for uploading it.

Whee, finally finished this fic (yesterday, actually) and I now have time to sit down and write a review. However, I don't really know what I should say. Everything was next to perfect, but I guess I'll try anyway.

I like how you had quotes at the top that gave a hint to what the chapter was about. Such a small detail, but I liked it.

Your writing style was totally Tolkien-ese. For serious. I really enjoyed it and usually it's difficult to emulate anyone's style.

I think that there are many with mixed feelings about how one should translate a different language, either in the text itself or as footnotes, but I find that sometimes it's more difficult to keep track of things when they are at the bottom. Though others may argue that having the trans right next to the phrase takes away from the actual story. Everyone has their own preference, I guess, and it cannot be helped.

Umm, I only found a few grammatical/spelling errors but those were located near the beginning of the story and if you asked me specifics, I wouldn't even be able to tell you 'cause I don't even remember. =P I suppose that's a good thing.

Totally loved your characterizations. I especially liked Gil-galad which made me even more disgruntled at the fact that he has to die. *sighs* But, he comes back at the end. And of course, your Elrond and Celebrian were just total love.

Honestly, I love this story! I found it three days ago and I just finished reading... I am truly amazed. There are few stories that were able to keep my interest like yours did...
Now I am going to take a look at your other fanfics to.
Thank you for writing this.

I thought this story was amazing. It was well written and your characters were well developed. I just started last night and finished this morning. Great job!

*sighs*

I'm tempted to leave this review like that in the sense that all I can think of now is how... contented I feel, having just read (re-read) this story from start to finish. (I saved chapters to my computer and curled up in bed with a cup of tea... it was a very awesome distraction from this nasty flu bug! :D)

As I've said before, one thing I particularly like about this fic is how you've incorporated the events of Middle-earth so well into this romance, making the reader think about how these things might have affected our dear characters' behaviour and actions, etc. Elrond, despite his wisdom and strength, is understandably tender and vulnerable, given his rather traumatic past. His developing relationship with Celebrían was so touching. I love your Celebrían - she's clearly her own woman, wise and able to hold her own amongst lords and kings. And the characterisations of Arwen, Elladan and Elrohir (oh, darnit, everyone else prominent, really!) and their interactions with our two lovebirds were rich and believable.

Since the last thing I read were the reunions, I have to say, the scene between Elrond and his parents brought tears to my eyes. And I was filled with such excited trepidation at his reunion with Celebrían, I confess I rather foolishly pumped my first in the air when it finally happened. :P
And the touch with 'the Elfling' - so awesome! With simple dialogue you imply so much about the future (but without confusing the reader, which is like, wow, too cool)... and make a rather tantalising inviation to come deeper into the intriguing world of Tirion's High Princes.

Also, your execution of the chapters about Celebrían's torment and subsequent departure... very scary territory there, but you handled it very well, portraying the horror and bleakness of it without being unneccessarily graphic. And, ah, there are so many things and I doubt I'm going to remember them or do them any justic, anyway, so I'll stop here! (I'll plead the sickness card, in this case, hehehe)

It's surreal to see that this story was completed more than four years ago - but it's most definitely a classic. Politics, action, family drama, a classy dash of humour... and some very excellent romance. Brilliant stuff, and thank you so much for letting us tag along with El and Brí for this very amazing ride!

AH
you are amazing. seriously. I must say you are of the extremely few writers who can take tolkien's writing style AND method of reveaing circumstances and replicate them exactly so that this beautiful story could easily be found in his work. no joke...like if I turned the page and this story began, there would be nothing unusual about it...except the sex scene, not that it wasn't awesome! :) keep writing, I'm now going to devour the rest of your fics!!
YAY!!

Talk about being way behind. I just found/noticed/started reading this story, and I already can't wait to see what happens. Celebrian has become a recent favorite and it's just darn hard to find quality fics with her in them.

Thanks for writing one! :D

I'm not sure what I can say about this story that hasn't already been written here. Beautiful. Outstanding. Amazing. Wonderful. Exceptional. All well-deserved and certainly worth repeating. You're writing is sheer poetry and brilliantly emotive. Your characterizations, relationships and plot are so realistic I fear I might start to confuse them with canon!

I confess that I'd never given much thought to Celebrían in either canon or fanon. For me, she'd always been one of several shadowy, unknown figures in Professor Tolkien's works. But I certainly wouldn't say that now. My interest has definitely been piqued.

Many thanks for a truly magnificent read. I'm off to find more Elrond and Celebrían fan fiction. ;)

This is honestly the best fanfic I have ever read. Your writing is beautiful, and you've really captured Tolkien's genius. I'm having trouble finding words to describe it, it's really good. lovely. lovely.

I know it is absolutely unecessary to write yet another review for this beautiful tale, but I did not have the time to go back and read this story up until now (actually I did not have the time to do it today), but: Nemis, you are the greatest writer of Tolkien-fanfiction I know.
This is absolutely wonderful, and please tell me when a book with stories of your very own is published! Any time soon? I sure hope for it!
