Oh my gosh, I love this so much. My musical study was not nearly as in-depth as yours - I earned a humble minor in music - so I am vastly impressed by and infatuated with Sherlock's lectures on Messiaen (haven't heard of him either - for shame), and love John just barely grasping them. I wish I knew more about modern composers, especially for the fic I'm writing now.

I didn't really detect any slash at all, which made me happy. Their friendship, IMO, is too good to spoil with slash.

I haven't really found any other fics focusing on Sherlock's virtuosity as a violinist for this fandom that have grabbed my interest, so congrats. Really well written. 3

Haha, very nice! I am a little surprised that he never "deleted" all this information, but I do like your explanation in that he's a musician, so of course he knows about music! To me it shows how passionate he is about his violin compared to everything else, something that isn't touched upon much in many other stories. Plus, I learned some cool stuff! You did well!
