There IS a reason if the reporters don't know: Clark is, in spite of everything, a good actor, as good as Christopher Reese or Brandon Routh, and most people doesn't even think Superman has a secret identity. Bet he got so sure about his secret identity he started getting negligent on that until Batman told him that Perry White also knows but never verified for his own reasons...
