At first, I thought this was going to involve Bungie jumping, the idiot's sport. I can see Jim Kirk doing that. Sadly, this scene was left out of "ST: Generations," but then McCoy was not there either. I could imagine him saying the same thing. He did berate Kirk for climbing and falling off El Capitan in that one movie, I choose to forget. I always love your stories. Too many are filled with so much goo, you have to have a road map to find your way out of them. Did you know that one of the previous movies has a not so obvious scene in it, depicting some history of a character that will most likely be in the next movie? I refer you to watch "ST: The Undiscovered Country" very carefully.
