Sorry I didn't read and review until now. The week of Samhain was difficult for me, as we lost my mother in law. When I read this might be dark I couldn't handle it then.

Interesting take on their legends. It reminds me a little of the BBC series Robin of Sherwood (with Michael Praed) from the early 1980's (yes, I am dating myself). Good series, but not nearly as dark as this. I found myself saddened that the Hunter required those sacrifices, especially the last one. No retribution from the Cold Ones?

Wow - definitely a dark and twisted side of Jake that I haven't seen much of before. I can't believe he killed Bella or was able to hide how crazy he was. Awesome job with it - interesting twist!

Dark, but well done. I liked this a lot. Though I wonder about the after-effects in the form of retribution.

Your description of the relationship with the Hunter reminds me of what is possible when children are raised without the word impossible. Magick is always stronger when it is grown from youth, rather than recaptured later in life.
