Not one of the registered 2/26/03 . chapter 1 Look, I really believe that this was a kick ass story. Don't let ANYONE put your work down cause they think their God's gift to English. I love the fact that you actually gave Quinn depth, and you showed that Daria is in fact a human whom has weaknesses. Excellence job, kept on writting! Screw anyone who tells you different. Good Luck, can't wait to read more of you stuff. |
Ronin2 1/31/02 . chapter 1That was the most touching thing,Quinn caring for Daria, treating her gently, the two sharing their thoughts,Daria sayin' to Quinn she loved her,as well as Amy and Helen caring an'loving Daria And BEST of all,it's in the Daria/Tom universe! |
CINCGREEN 8/28/00 . chapter 1 sorry, Gangaman, not much praise here. Interesting premise, well
handled at the beginning, which is commendable seeing as Daria,
Jane, Quinn et al have been battered to death in fan fiction.
The story breaks down with Daria getting a bit flaky and free
associating, revealing her "true self" (her time as a four year
old) in a scene that doesn't have any impact, since there's no
buildup. The sudden arrival of Aunt Amy is a real *deus ex
machina*, and that machine creaks too loudly for my comfort.
It seems also that many of Quinn's interesting "quirks" have
been eliminated - by removing her stereotypical shallowness,
you've turned her into a cypher. I give this effort a "C"
- the beginning was strong, everyone was in character,
Daria was sufficiently witty but it all falls apart with
the "DRAMATIC MOMENT!" in the middle and Aunt Amy's 689th
obligatory fanfic appearance at the end. In all, neither fish,
nor foul. I'd smoke another bowl and I look forward to your
future efforts, despite my non-praise. |
