an interesting start, or a snippet of a story. but that's what life is, isn't it? we only see snippets of other people's lives, most times with no beginning and no end

I love it! Jack is a favorite of mine. He could me take interest :-).

I hope there's a sequel. You ended it just as it started to pick up & get interesting.

this story was very good. i would love to read more if you decided to write more. as it is now, i feel i should tell you that i feel it reads more like a chapter instead of a oneshot with the way you ended it. im not sure whether or not you intended it to be a chapter or a oneshot but judging by the 'the end' you added at the end im assuming you meant it to be a oneshot so i thought i should just let you know. although i would like to read more of this story i realize that you may choose not to write more. either way, i would like to wish you good luck and no writers block in your future writings. good luck! and thank you for writing this story.
