This was an absolutely lovely story; adding depth, and heart to the characters they gave us on screen. It is also quite heartfelt. I'm very glad I found it, thank you so much for sharing it.

Found this again after going through the Kirk stories and I just love it. I especially like the image of a teenage Jim wanting to keep the garden on Tarsus alive to try and help people because even at that age, he already felt more responsibility towards others than he actually needed to give. I can just imagine the devastation that he felt when the garden failed and people were dying around him.

Anyways, loved it!

wow. very beautiful, and a moving character study. the garden and all its implications hit me in the gut, but i loved the bittersweet ending. great job bringing life to words on the page.
