Ah, what a sad story. I suspected Abraxas had done something like that, although I hoped he hadn't. Lucius did the right thing, though the story ended before the dark lord was killed, so he didn't get to see his family intact again.

Truly, truly dark but beautiful in a morbid sort of way. Very impressive work.

Wow...just wow. I wish I could leave you the lengthy review you deserve, but I'm awestruck, I'm at a loss for words, really, I wouldn't say if it wasn't true, if I was just being lazy, be sure I'd say so. So, in lack of anything better to say, that part about the human fingernails made me imagine Snape having an affair with an old hag that had a tray of fingernails when Harry accidentally went to Knockturn Alley.
