leafysummers 1/31/12 . chapter 3Interesting to chapter; that's for sure. Will you write about this campaign they're about tong on and how they use their gifts? |
leafysummers 1/31/12 . chapter 2Well that was creepy. Natnian mermaids are a far cry from the pretty and friendly mer-people we think of and associate with Disney. Though I'm pretty sure mythologically, they're much more canonistic. |
leafysummers 1/31/12 . chapter 1Aslan to the rescue! Whisked them home just in time; I wonder if the cordial would have arrived in time. Surely it would have saved Eustace as well. |
Autumnia 1/25/12 . chapter 3How wonderful that Jill and Eustace (and Rilian) get to celebrate the holiday with Father Christmas himself. I suppose it *is* a rare moment indeed, since it's definitely been ages since that first Christmas for the Pevensies in Narnia. It's a lovely gift for them all in the midst of a cold and weary campaign. And such interesting presents too; I think I prefer Eustace's gift over Jill's. |
Autumnia 1/25/12 . chapter 2I love the vivid imagery you gave here about what the naiads and mermaids look like. Like Jill, I thought perhaps Rilian was exaggerating about when he warned her about the mermaids but I'm glad at least that Eustace heeded his words even if he too began to fall under her spell. |
Autumnia 1/25/12 . chapter 1How different an ending for Jill and Eustace when their Narnia adventures are over. Unlike the Pevensies' long stay, here Aslan at least tells them it's time to back to England. I like the little interesting details here too, how Lucy's cordial is referred to as being Holy and there's a priest in Narnia as well! |
lemonsmania 1/25/12 . chapter 3Oh, I really liked Jill's gift. It fits her, especially because of the line in The Last Battle. I forget it exactly, but she says something like, "Hurrah! I love disguises!" |
Lady Eleanor Boleyn 1/25/12 . chapter 3Caspian's son got Peter's Sword! Yay! That's sweet! Great job...please update sooner next time! |
rthstewart 1/25/12 . chapter 3Oh wonderful and oh my what tantalizing bits. I was sort of hoping there would be a gift of Eustace's red leather trousers and we'd see a visit with Sven? But just wonderful and great of you to pose those odd questions about why Christmas in Narnia and the religious and fertility festivals! I LOVE the gifts. What great, great things! I so adore what you do with this. It's so freeing. Terrific as always and your Eustace "voice" is just great. I adore the two of them together. |
snitchnipped 1/24/12 . chapter 3Oh, this is wonderful! I love the little glimpses we get of your SCAU, and this latest addition with the very unique gifts for Eustace and Jill makes me want to know more more more... I cannot wait for your Narnia Big Bang! |
reneerose 2/22/11 . chapter 1I love this. I want more. The tone of both Eustace and Jill is just right. |
lost-in-elysium 1/22/11 . chapter 2Great chapter! It's very well written and I enjoyed it a lot. I hope to read more of this story soon! |
Rosa Cotton 12/21/10 . chapter 2Wow. The more you reveal of this alternate Narnia, the more I am drawn in and left wishing for more. This new piece is excellent. The opening lines of this about mermaids made me think of the ones in Peter Pan (both the book the 2003 movie). Some mermaids can indeed be dangerous. I liked the contrast between them and the naiads. Your Jill in this I really enjoyed. Once again, I'm left with possibilities and questions...the cause of Rillian's fear of the mermaids, the Third Battle of Beruna? Keep up the good work! |
rthstewart 12/20/10 . chapter 2What is especially a stand out in this short piece, my friend, is your world building. The Mermaids vs the Naiads, the Third Battle of Beruna? and what is it that made Rilian so very wary of the mermaids. This is a very thought provoking piece. Also, I am enjoying your take on Jill too - practical, trusting, an independent thinker, who can make mistakes. Excellent! |
Fierce Queen 12/20/10 . chapter 2Interesting, Winged. I like how you made the Merpeople out to be not so nice. The Mermaid was a bit creepy. Good job! Aslan's Blessings and Merry Christmas! Fierce |
