2002-04-08 . chapter 1
This is... a beautiful piece, moving, thoughtful. I like it quite a bit, though there were several missing words(they weren't meant to be missing, were they?) which interrupted the otherwise smooth flow of the story. It made me think(and I especially love stories that make me think): Amiboshi... is, perhaps, a bit more of an escapist than Suboshi is. And Suboshi is still a boy, and still has such fairy-tale-like ideas. So cute. (Suboshi, I love you!~)
I feel that the whole idea of Amiboshi's memory loss as a curse, as 'a kind of penance for all he had done' is rather vague, blurry. It might be just me, but while I was reading the story, I didn't exactly get that... that impression.
Well, then. As many good stories, this one has inspired me. Thank you very much for that.

I would like to say something about this whole issue about Amiboshi. Amiboshi was called the good one because he had repented in a way for his past misdeeds. Yes, he made some wrong decisions but he also corrected it in a way by not returning back to Kutou. I know that some people tend to misjudged him, but tell me , of what use will it be if he ever returns to Kutou? Yes, probably Suboshi might not have killed Tamahome's family, but then Nakago will just ordered him again to do something bad to the Suzaku group and it will be hard on his conscience now, after he had come to realized that Miaka isn't what Nakago pictured her to be. I mean, did you ever think what kind of guilt he had to feel knowing that Miaka is such a kind-hearted person and he would have to do Nakago's bidding? It will be doubly hard on his conscience if he had to play by the rules that Nakago employed when he knows for sure that the Suzaku no Miko is such a kind-hearted person, and don't forget that when he was about to fall into that river, it was Miaka who had tried to saved him.Just imagine what it feels like to be on the other side when you knew full well that the other side had no intention of waging a war against your country. Remember that it was the Seiryuu who initiated the war and not the Suzaku group. The Suzaku group were only trying to defend themselves to protect their country and their people. They had no intention of taking over the land of Kutou. If you watched what the Seiryuu group had done, they were all bent on destroying anyone especially anyone who tried to fight back just to protect themselves.

By the way, I still think that even though Amiboshi had return to Kutou, there's still the possibility that Suboshi might still kill Tamahome's family for Suboshi hated anyone who had hurt Yui. Think about what he did to Miaka( first, when he almost raped her despite Amiboshi's pleading for him to stop fighting the Suzaku, and secondly ,when he had almost killed her) ;and think about that he didn't felt any guilt as he faced Tamahome considering that he murdered his whole family out of the mistake he made. Not even once did Suboshi felt any remorse about what he did to Tamahome's family. Did you ever heard him ask for forgiveness as the ghostly apparition of Tamahome's family tried to hold him off?

Yes, Amiboshi has been a bad boy. And he was punished severely for it. But what of the other seishi? The beloved Suzaku seishi. I'm quite a fan of Tasuki, but are you considered a warrior of love if you kill members of a rival group, just because the two were meant to be rivals? Althought the Seiryuu were warriors of, well, war and did fight and even kill rival Suzaku seishi, did they truly deserve the whole impact of the punishments given to them? I believe there is no such thing as a "better" in comparing, because everyone has their own faults and misdeeds. Amiboshi and Suboshi are very misjudged characters. It's ironic, really, to be setting out to kill in order to bring peace for your country, but I could sense a moment's hesitation in Amiboshi. Although he did run away, in a cowardly way, he is still my favorite character. He deals with situations in a dangerous manner, but still manages to hold on to his sensitive side, which I find rather remarkable. Suboshi is quite the misunderstood one, and I feel strongly agaisnt those who misjudge him. He has had no other companion for a long time but his brother, and can't accept to live without him, which is predictable. Jeez, I have got to finish up this review, or your eyes will get tired reading this! Anyways, a pretty good story, and Amiboshi is still my favorite character because he is underestimated in fury, but has a softness about him that is unique with others.

You have excellent insight. I often wondered if the dependence the two brothers had on each other were the best things for them. Also I never could truly classify the twins in a "black and white" title, for both of them have their qualites on both sides of the spectrum. Being a huge fan of the twins myself, I really didn't think you were trying to be biased or hateful you were just trying to look beyond the surface of things. Instead of the flat, underdeveloped descriptions you provide an assortment of looks into a charachters personality and make them more like real people, as they should be in any good story. Anyone can passs of their judgement without thinking things through, but if we did we would never understand people who are different and true prejudice would exist in alarming proportions. So keep writing, and someday your talents may truly help someone. And I've written alot, haven't I? If only I could write this well in my english essays (despite this sudden lapse of eloquence I'm only in high school ^^;;) , of course if only our assignment topics were all about anime analyzation, but hey we can't have everything, ne? ~_^

Wow~ This is one of the best Amiboshi centric fanfics I've read in such a while. It's beautifully written; the descriptions short yet not undermined; ingeniusly composed piece. I enjoy it, despite the fact that it did make me tear up at some parts, but that was meant to happen wasn't it?

If you would like it posted elsewhere, I have a small fanfiction site that I'll be happy to put it on. I'm always looking for good twins ficcies and this happens to be one of those ones.

You can email me at: hells_brat02@hotmail.com with permission. I would be very happy if I could host this. Thanks.

Great story! You took everything into consideration... which i liked... (some authors don't do that...) It's nice to know someone doesn't think that Koutoku is exactly the "good twin". (I have trouble convincing my friends that.) Keep writing!!!
