Lovely. I love the almost-sacred turn of phrase that you use, and that we see (and understand) Mulder's devotion to Scully from another, one truly accustomed to devotion. They have a sacred bond, and a church is the perfect place for it.

Hmm...*taps chin* Do I like it or am I just confused? *reads it again* OK, I do like it. If only for the VERY metaphorical sentences; especially the end "only the shadow of his wings." Wow, that is COOL. (Leave it to me to ignore the content and read like an English teacher). But I do like this short, accurate interpretation of Season 9.
