That was an awesome fic! I heard about it on either ShipperFic or Article 78, forget which. I got curious and decided to take a squizz. I really like what I see! It's kinda sad when Jingo dies, but I really like Captain Pride.

and i would tell ya one thing... (in no context of the story itself) If I were Mac Harm would have a wife and about three or more kids by now... just adding to the point of how SSSWWWWWEEEEEEET! Harm can be (which is why I adore his character) LOL ok i have babbled too much... bye!

Great story "Mac's Best Friend." As a confirmed dog lover and fanatical Harm & Mac shipper, I really loved it. And I don't think it was out of character at all; probably more like a look into their character that the TV show doesn't overly reveal.

Two editorial points: First, yes, Harm had at least one dog when he was growing up. The one that is known for certain was a Jack Russell Terrier that he mentioned having at the end of "Soul Searching." He also mentioned that he had had other dogs, but only the one Jack Russell Terrier.

Second, purebred Alaskan Malamutes do not have blue eyes or one blue and one brown. Siberian Huskies may have that mix, owing in part to their mixed canine and wolf ancestor from hundreds of years ago, but Malamutes do not; they are pure canine and do not have the blue eyed gene. Malamutes are magnificent animals, extremely loyal to their owners, remarkably gentle and docile for such a large dog (95 lbs) and have a very sweet, loving disposition. But when their family is threatened, they are fiercely protective and courageous. As such, Captain Pride should be a perfect fit for Mac. I had a purebred male Malamute (Phantom of the Southern Skies - I flew F-4 Phantoms at the time I got him) for 15 years and, even 4 1/2 years after his death, I still miss him terribly.

Anyway, keep up the good fanfic.
