i often argue the point that he is not schizophrenic nor does he have dissociative identity disorder... he is a brilliant tactician who is hiding in plain sight as the bumbling happy clown. so harmless.

This fic is so cute, and so very Kenshin. I love introspectives, especially Kenshin ones, since he is so complex...but you were able to write him really well. I also love the last few sentances, which are cute. Great work!

I love the open of the manga and you've captured the atmosphere well. The introduction to the two main characters is perfect. She's spunky and clueless and he's, well... complicated. I think that comes across well in your fic.

The beginning is dominated with the word "I" especially considering his habit of avoiding the word in speech. It's a bit prominent but could be easily tweaked. Perhaps something like: "Turning the corner in the misty dawn, my thoughts also turn..." etc. It's a fine fic and written long ago, so no worries if you don't go back just on my say so.

I've really enjoyed several of your stories such as Hokkaido/Prism and Clearing Skies but realized I hadn't reviewed the shorter works.

A slightly different take on Kenshin... but one that is more practical and in my opinion the one that suits him best

"and yet, year by year, despite the lives I've saved, my guilt only grows."

I love the way the story opens and closes to atmosphere. How Kaoru is referred to as a girl, and focused on through that.. " A swords*woman*?".. lol. And the scene close.. a perfect ending for this snapshot..

i read this on TFME (before it broke) and i really enjoyed it and it's sequel. i have a small version of my own flaskback to this episode (my fave episode :) and it was inspired by you, i'l try to remember to mention you. pls look at my fics, i'd like someone good to review them.

I really liked this story a lot partially because when I saw the first episode it was my first time seeing kenshin and so I never really thought about it from his point of view. I really liked it a lot though and am going to go now so that I can read the sequel. Bye-bye:p
