Very well written and an interesting twist! _

This is amazing. I love the subtlety with which you show these relationships, in all their complexity and ambiguity. You do a wonderful job of showing the reconciliation without making anything too easy. Perfect.
DT 1/15/11 . chapter 1
There are some CLASSIC lines in here: ...Spock is not one for showmanship, so when they arrive in engineering he says only: "And this is main engineering."...

and

...Finally, something Leonard both understands and agrees with. "You're right, I'm a terrible friend. Why don't you go find a good one and leave me alone with my roast beef?"...

and

...Hikaru turns back to his station and makes a point to check all the helm settings before speaking. (He knows he shouldn't, but he just can't help himself.) "Captain," he glances over his shoulder, "I wasn't aware we were having a parent's weekend. Mine will be sad they missed it."...

Great re-working of a TOS storyline. This story is like a good cover song in that you can still appreciate the original, but the cover adds its own value and it's not just a parroting lip sync with a different voice.

Nice!

Great story. Best line: "Captain," he glances over his shoulder, "I wasn't aware we were having a parent's weekend. Mine will be sad they missed it." That was hysterical. Thanks. I love to read your Star Trek stories. Maybe you should write one where Spock and Kirk's parent are involved and just how they are willing to react.

ah good, happiness all around :) :). It is always good to see Sarek and Spock making peace, as well as Jim and his mom. Loved Jim's trail of thoughts about Bones and Spock lol and Sarek and his mom. He was in full panic lol.

Hikaru really nailed it with that joke LMAO...
