I have read this story several times and I love it every time. I found your use of a practical analysis of venom as a contiguous, self-replicating retrovirus absolutely fascinating! The use of wolf characteristics as a anti-viral made utterly logical sense; a genetic counter (in any population set there will always be those who are immune to almost any genetic modifier, as a tribal characteristic it works even better) The description of Bella's years of isolation was very sad and I was glad when she was able to make contact with a family! This was brilliantly done and it is definetely one of my favorites, now. Yes, I ran into the brit/yank slang on occasion, but it wasn't too bad. After you wrote of waiting for Peter's friend to 'pick up their post', where a yank would have said they were 'picking up the mail.' Whatever, it all worked, and it's wonderful.
