Aw, this is so sad. Why not a sequel where Yumichika confesses his undying love for Renji and kills Ikkaku? How pleasent that would be..hm..but I suppose this ending was good too..aw...how sad.

This was a very pleasant read. I especially like the way the action stayed in Renji's head and the tension was resolved in ways other than pairing off. You didn't take the easy out. Characterization-wise, Renji was very Renji and Yumi was very Yumi. Ikkaku was dense as ever, although sometimes I wonder if it's just a defensive mask.

That was really interesting :) Written really well too.
