I have never before thought about the implications of badges. Letting you control pokemon up to certain levels does sound a lot like brainwashing.

FIVE MINUTES LATER

Wow... I don't usually read angsty fics because I get depressed really easily, but I was blown away by this one. I love this! This is great; it's not anti-trainer (which depresses me the most), and it's DEFINATELY an original idea. The imagery was fantastic; I could actually see Rhydon sitting in his cell, with the rest of the Pokemon; I could see Mewtwo, Deimos, all of them. I could even feel their inner torment. I swear, if you handed this in as an English paper, you would get 110/100. It's THAT good.

I've noticed each of these chapters has a different focus. The first chapter is narrated, but it's mainly an overview of the situation and a description of the gym. The second chapter focuses in more on the battles and training, as well as Mewtwo and the differences in motivation. And now this third chapter hones in on one particular battle and one opponent. I wonder what Deimos will do with the information he's about to get?

The premise isn't bad. But your melodrama gets in the way. Why not turn the idea over to some other author?

Six times but jeeze, I can't believe what I was missin' out on before. *jumps up and down on earth badge* If I do that enough it alters the laws of physics and it creates an antigravity field for a short period of time. Very strong story. Will Deimos help the Rhyhorn achieve freedom or will the Rhyhorn roam free in some grassy area with heavy doses of tranquillisers given by nurse Joy on set times while whistling "Happy House" by Siouxsie and the Banshees? Ah, the suspense of the mentally unstable and yet so strong of mind...

Oh man, I haven't read a Pokemon story in a long time...that was pretty cool right there. Oh and, I'm gonna steal your little "vvv" you put in the center to seperate, it just looks neat. lol _
