Reviews for Firefly in Summer
garrigan-nass 2/7/13 . chapter 39
Oh that's so great he remembered that day! And there's a picture to capture the truth of his memory. Amazing. Bella must be so blown away by the newest connection to him she's now learned. These two were always destined to meet and be together. Perhaps even in lifetimes before.

So sad about Uncle Pete but Edward did get those four precious years with him. Looks like Shan was correct: some things will just happen when they're meant to, like a diseased heart even with preventative measures in place. It's good Edward seems to be at peace. Lighter even.

I did wonder if Bella had something to do with Edward not being at Emmett's wedding. And I get her decision. She was only trying to follow his wishes and not ruin anything. I know he'll forgive her that.

Will he keep after her about the swimming issue? Will that force her to tell another white lie or will that be the thing that has her reveal what's so?

You can probably tell I've begun to slow down my reading, savoring every last word. Dumb, huh?
garrigan-nass 2/6/13 . chapter 38
I swear I could hear Patsy on that jukebox...I could see Blondie and Bella having their "girl talk" at the bar and giggling over B's joke...I could hear Jake making jokes with the poor drunk woman as he helped her home. (Two out of those three scenes made me laugh out loud.)

You do such a great job creating a scene. It's living and breathing; all the senses are activated. Such an amazing talent. Jealous.

I do hope Pete will be okay. So glad Bella could be there for them and help Edward stay calm and focused.

And Emmett married Rosie-that's great! Bella's never mentioned the wedding; I'm sure it was a beautiful day. Wonder if Bella insisted Edward not be invited. Guess they have to have that conversation. Don;t think she can keep him from piecing it all together fairly soon. Isn't next month THE month? Or is that next June?
garrigan-nass 2/6/13 . chapter 37
That was a nice, long chapter!

It seems Bella has arrived at a plan or at least a way of being until Edward can get this all sorted out. She's right: Edward of the past/future did fall in love with another version of Bella; actually two: Bella who died and young Bella at 17. THIS Bella is neither one of those versions.

I like that she's shared with him that she, too, is waiting for her true love. I think on some level he may take what she said literally but perhaps believes she speaking metaphorically, since he revealed he's also in a holding pattern of sorts. I do thin he little revelation has made him consider the Letter and compare it against how intensely he feels for this girl. Giving him pause, I suppose.

Thanks for the memory-beautiful, sexy, intimate-your lemons are always so well done b/c there's such truth in your words.
garrigan-nass 2/5/13 . chapter 36
Hmmm...did he mean to be vulgar? What did he hope to accomplish by asking her that? Was it some kind of test? All he managed to do was repel her, disappoint her. Oh dear. He's confused by his feelings and that Letter, I suppose.

So I guess they'll just dance around each other for another year. Ugh! Torture for them both.

I just can't imagine after waiting for each other 5 years and staying faithful to one another that they don't figure it out sooner or later.
garrigan-nass 2/5/13 . chapter 35
How adorable is he? I totally get Bella's impulse to just tackle the poor guy and kiss him senseless.

So he's got to think something's up with this intense, instant attraction that goes beyond horniness and lust, right? There's palpable energy b/t these two that they both can feel.

Very interested to see how this will unfold. Can't help but wonder about the date. It's February-around Valentine's Day but a year too early according to their plan. Does it really matter THAT much or will the data turnout to be significant?

Gotta give Bella props for her self-control. When these two finally do work it all out, I can't imagine the fireworks!
garrigan-nass 2/5/13 . chapter 34
Oh,man...it's gonna get good now!

I had wondered about Jess. She was mentioned early on in this story with Mike but then she kind of didn't show up after that. I remembered her being pregnant, too.

What a meeting. I think he'll piece this all together b/f he's meant to, according to himself. And Bella will recover from her initial shock-Mrs Cope will see to that.

So glad to know Uncle Pete is well-and hopefully, eating well, too! Would like to have him around a bit longer. Maybe walk a certain brunette down the aisle?
garrigan-nass 2/4/13 . chapter 33
Ok. I really am stopping for the night. Gotta give the baby a bath.

This story OWNS me right now. Think about it a lot. My husband thinks I'm going a bit cookoo. (What's new?)

I can feel myself wanting to slow down a bit now and just savor the end of this...
garrigan-nass 2/4/13 . chapter 32
OMG! I'm so nervous. What is going on? Why do I feel like he was saying goodbye to Esme and even to Pete?

What happened to the film canister? Why is the letter he wrote to himself in his wallet?

Ugh!

I think I'm off to read a rarity. (Geez...I need to remember to breathe. Your story can make me nuts.)
garrigan-nass 2/4/13 . chapter 31
Whoa. Intense chapter. Beautiful and painful.

I loved how he vacillated between knowing he shouldn't make demands on her, encourage her to live her best life for 5 years, and then took it all back at the airport. What person wouldn't? Amazing and real moment. Sniff...

Maybe I'm waaay off track here, but the extended banter about getting pregnant made me wonder if Bella might not find herself with a gift after Edward goes back to the future. (I'm sure I'm not the first one to guess this-probably happens in every story where these two have sex, right?) Having a baby at 18 would certainly change her life and it would be a whole other level of torture to not tell Edward even though that would be blow his mind given he doesn't remember her. Oh my.

That song is/was perfect-wow.

Almost forgot-the "waterfall moment" was incredible. So glad they had that time together. Bella and Edward squeezed a lot into 4 days.
garrigan-nass 2/3/13 . chapter 30
Guess who's not watching the Super Bowl? Couldn't care less really. My mom has the baby and everyone else is preoccupied with the game so I stole away to read one more chapter. Then I'll put her down for the night and be more social.

I'm so sorry about Bella and Rosie's relationship. They really are oil and water and it's a shame really. Just because you're blood doesn't mean that love naturally develops. Not to blame anyone, but I do feel that parents can play a big role in how their children build relationships with each other. If Renee doted on Rosie and the two of them felt excluded by Charlie, and as though Bella only needed him, well, you can see how the sisters didn't really stand a chance at becoming close. I do think they both feel a sense of loss over it.

Now about this theory...Edward seems to be very accepting of this. He knows he'll go back to all the pain and sense of loss he was experiencing but he's resigned. Does he believe that strongly in Bella's choices from now on? So 2004 Bella will remember their time together but 2009 Edward won't remember anything but his former reality. He's already not doing so well in 2009. I'm worried about him when he returns. But maybe there will already be changes that he'll discover which may give him hope?
garrigan-nass 2/3/13 . chapter 29
This is only part of what's true. It's what was true for him. He only knows what Bella told him and what he saw-that's it. And it's been killing him that he doesn't know Bella's reason/s for going into the ocean that morning. But isn't it possible that the answer is as simple as it's just what she did/had done many times? It was her ritual, her routine. It did clear her head and allowed her to be light for just a little while. The buoyancy of the water gave her a brief physical and psychological weightlessness that she needed in order to get through her days. I'm not sure why he needs a reason beyond that which I think he already knows. It was an accident. She knew what was happening and she tried to do her best to save herself but in the end she couldn't. I'm sure she died regretting the fact that she would leave Edward and never told him she loved him. I think it's another reason his time-travelling is possible.
garrigan-nass 2/3/13 . chapter 28
Oh...I'll wish you a Happy Birthday, too, even though it's probably a year too late. (I'm kinda time travelling as well.)

OH. MY. That's all I have to say about this particular chapter. Absolutely gorgeous. I really admire how you write about moments. Just small moments that you slow down for the reader and it's as though we're also in that room with them. The writing is so intimate and honest, one can't help but be transported to their own first love, first time. So talented.

Thanks for the author's note as well. I try not to think too hard on the science or logic of all of this. Just enjoying the ride. These theories are way advanced for my pea brain to process.

My hope is that when Edward's consciousness goes back to the future, he'll have those beautiful memories he's created with Bella so that as he waits/searches for her they sustain him. Hadn't really given much thought to past Edward with new memories and what that may mean. And if Bella doesn't remember this brief time with her time-travelling boyfriend so that she intends to live her best life until they are reunited, it's just a crime. I'll choose to believe they have both been given a gift that will set them on the correct path. The world needs the positive energy/force that is their connection-it makes the world spin on its axis, right?
garrigan-nass 2/2/13 . chapter 27
Dun, dun, dun...almost forgot about Tanya. She's really become an afterthought in this story to me.

Something Bella thought is making me wonder, too. Will Edward remember his time in 2004 w/Bella when he goes back to the future? Or will Bella be the one w/the memories who now looks for him?
garrigan-nass 2/2/13 . chapter 26
Whew. Good one. I think I may have stopped breathing at a certain point.

So he is planning on leaving? What's he doing then? He knows he has to hurt her by leaving but he wants to leave her with sweet memories to last 4-5 years until he hopes they meet again?

Incredible sacrifice...or gift...a herculean effort on his part.
garrigan-nass 2/2/13 . chapter 25
So I might have a new theory. The headaches are making me crazy. And the lost iPhone pictures. And Edward's "feeling" that he can't stay.

Maybe when Edward saw the photo for 2004 with Bella in the background, he suddenly realized how that night could have been different had he known he could be of help. The absolute devastation of that realization, coupled with his overwhelming grief of losing Bella and leaving Summerside caused him to...I don't know...have a seizure, a heart attack, a blood clot in his brain. All that seems to be happening to him back in 2004 may be a product of Edward being b/t two worlds-not quite dead and crossed-over but clinging to an in-between reality. Maybe the brief vision he had of Bella before heading upstairs to his room to look at those pictures was Bella waiting for him to join her. When he "goes back" to 2009 we'll learn he's dies too. Geez. I like my theory but I hate my theory as I like HEAs. Screw fate.
