beautiful story, i actually found this through searching DA and saw the artwork you had commissioned for it. glad i took the few minutes of distraction from my own story to read it.

Your story had me laughing hard quite a few times and it was sad and sweet at others and OMG I love it! That rambling is me not able to correctly put my thoughts together and find the words to express them. Good job; not many stories I read do that. :3

Great job on Sephiroth's characterization I really love the way you painted Zack's character too the countyboy references, blunt attitude and crude language really did wonders when paired with the insight into his morality given by his reaction to Luke's death it paints him as a true down to earth hero just like the hero in the game bravo! I could rave about this story and your wonderful portrayal of the characters for hours!

You really managed to write a good Sephiroth (his personality I mean... sorry if I don't make sense with my poor english) in making him a little cold, distant, detached even, but wamed up by Zack personality. Great job!

I am glad that this had a happy ending, for a minute there I was quite worried! And it was touching when Sephiroth admits being scared of dying and how they comfort each other in the end

Wow, that was so good! I love how you cut it up chronologically, it really put an emphasis on how their situation gradually became worse and how they gradually stopped thinking about anything except their own (and each other's) survival. I really admire how you've portrayed them as proper soldiers, with all the rank-etiquette (though it sort of ceases to be important after a while) and the camaraderie between the two grunts in the beginning. I have to say that apart from Iwo Jima I've never seen any movie or read any fiction about how a Japanese army works, the respect and allowances between ranks - and besides we can't really be sure how to imagine the ShinRa army as opposed to the Wutain. But you did a really good job with the atmosphere here, and I adore the credible interactions between the two. I have to say, it's much harder to be touched by fraternity than by an easy romance, and you trully pulled it off well here! Great job, keep writing. ;)

OH this one was wonderful...very well written. I Loved the little snippets of humor from the General!

They are lucky to have survived and should be honoured to be treated like that when they are so close to death and so ill.

There can be humanity on the battle field. They are lucky to be alive!
