the card game in the middle threw me off for a bit... untill i got to the end. the story is one of the best that i have ever read. i congradulate you. Keep writing.

I didn't notice the Seven Deadly Sins theme until the very end. Looking back I totally see it. It starts with Wrath, then Gluttony, then Sloth, then Envy, Pride, a really overt Greed, and finally Lust. Which is why the adult didn't want to play the last card because it would work against him.

Wow, that was wonderful. Great way of putting the seven deadlies into play (And that was my Hoagie Gilligan moment of the day) They should use this story in Sunday school :-).

Were you influenced by the tradition of seeing all seven deadly sins as love in various perverted forms (as in pride is excessive love of self, gluttony love of worldly goods etc.)?

I'm speechless, Phenon. The metaphor and the way you have woven it into the story. My, I'm far more impressed with your writing now. This was simply perfect. You have explored 1/362 to such an extent that it has made me content, but more intrigued in the couple's relationship. Perfectly amazing. I believe I will now stick to your writings(and a few other writers, of course) to become a better writer. Seriously, you're the ultimate role model in all writings. It took me longer than I want to admit to realize that the Seven Cards were the Seven Deadly Sins. In hind sight, it seems amazingly obvious. A good story with an interesting portrayal of emotions. Hat's off to ya.
