Lord Cow-Cow 10/12/11 . chapter 1So sad, but so well written. I normally don't like this kind of story, but this one was really great. And now, Seth understands how Orson felt, a morbid kind of irony I suppose. |
hippiechic 10/8/11 . chapter 1I do not know what to say to this, other than: Wow. I have not read any of your other works, but this particular piece has definitely gotten my interest peaked. I believe you captured the feelings of real people and by doing so brought a sense of realism to fictious characters. Each behaved in exactly the way I would expect for someone in their position. Seth's affection and desire to protect Eirika were so genuine and in character for him, her most faithful knight. Then, the ending was perfect. I could not imagine a better ending to this piece. Great job there. You should also be commended for your wonderful grammar and spelling. Both of these truly help the read-ability and also allowed the situation's graveness to be imprinted on the reader's mind without distractions. Two thumbs way up. Until the next time, Peace and Out! mar/hippiechic |
CharonicImpulse 2/7/11 . chapter 1Alas, what Tragedy. No all endings are happy, sad as it is. Short and simple, something I can appreciate. CI |
Mark of the Asphodel 1/27/11 . chapter 1Love the title. I've seen other stories where Seth can't handle the loss of Eirika, and I didn't find them satisfying because the "Seth" in them didn't seem enough like Seth. This, though, was plausible in spite of the ghastly undercurrents. The relationship between Seth and Eirika had enough complexity to it- especially the unusual attribution of *cruelty* to Eirika- that Seth's reaction to her death seemed like the inevitable outcome of a long and tangled relationship with Eirika and all the baggage that came with her. The burst of rage at Ephraim also seemed like a natural reaction and a suitable trigger for Seth's little fantasy sequence. Still, it also was appropriate that Seth step- or stumble- back from the brink... and he did. All in all, very satisfying. |
Kitten Kisses 1/25/11 . chapter 1Uhm. I love this. So much. I don't even. I can't even really put it into words. I love the sparse dialogue, that she leaves him in the night, that he wants left alone, that he thinks some crazy stuff...and in the end, just breaks down. (Because he's an old man, because he's alone, because he misses her, because he loves her.) Hng. This deserves a much better review than I can leave! I feel bad leaving this crappy one. Just. The ending is especially powerful, and you know I love the older-people stories. And and and. ;_; I mean I didn't cry, but this story was very moving! So I'm favoriting it. And encouraging you to keep writing. Because this fandom needs awesome stories like this. Cheers, -Manna |
Xirysa 1/25/11 . chapter 1Fuckdammit YES. Lovelovelovelovelove this piece. But you know that. You also know how I felt about this piece. XDD It was really awesome. Now I really want to write a Seth-with-Orson-esque madness as well. But I have to leave for class in like 20 minutes, so we'll see how well that goes. Bony hands. D: The hands of old people always make me sad. I also loved how ambiguous this was in parts. I love ambiguity. So yeah. Great work, love! [Xirysa] |
